Greetings, fellow travellers, enthusiasts, bucketlist dreamers, solo traveller, family travellers, bikers, and the whole well wishers of Bhutan wishing/planning/preparing your wonderful, exciting and fun filled journey to Bhutan.
We wholeheartedly welcome you to the Land of Thunder Dragon.
A few cautious preventive measures I would Like to share with all visitors for your smooth sailing in Bhutan.
- Be cautious of participating in each and every activity that is outlined in your program. ( For example, Rafting, just because of the thrill of it, don't risk your life if your not a confident swimmer.)
- Hiking Tigers Nest ( Yes, it's an exciting and one of the top things to do during your stay in Bhutan, But again, mind your health, agility, and overall ability. There are incidents where people have died while hiking this steep terrain.
( Just because it's in the program and everyone is doing it, is not a reason to take a chance. Your age, health etc... matters. ) Seeing it from the distance parking, taking a pic is more than enough, your on holiday and not to risk your health.
- Be cautious of travel agents selling and promoting Bhutan at cheap prices, as its understood that quality is indefinitely going to be compromised, be it accommodations, food, and time.
Be cautious of the mode of transportation you are being provided before you confirm your tour. Just because its a Toyota doesn't mean that it's brand new.
- Support legitimate, authorized, tax paying Travel Agents from Bhutan, rather than outsider Travel Agents who, as middlemen, bring the clients, promote Bhutan as their destination, and take the bigger piece of the 🎂.
- The Tourism Authority of Bhutan supports and examines every bhutanese operator with strict rules, penalties, fines, and license cancelling, so to us Tourism Industry is a serious and professional trade.
- (bhutan.travel ) this government Tourism portal has info of all certified, tax paying and legitimate Travel operators in the Country with all their info and contact details. Use this for your research before planning.
- We Bhutanese know more about our own country, places, tours, Accommodations, food, local festivals etc... much better and clearer than outsider third party Travel Agents promoting Bhutan 😃. In this age of Internet, everyone is a master and all information is available on just a click, use your judgement. Support the national local coffer.
We are a small nation, lesser people, simple lifestyle, honest and friendly bunch of people in general 😃.
I wish all visitors to Bhutan a safe, happy, and wonderful trip to cherish ❤️.
Be smart, have a holiday blast, be cautious, and travel back safe to your loved ones 🙏 🙏
Sincerely
Jigme
