Solo traveler - guided day trips possible?

I'm an experienced solo traveler planning a 5-day trip to Bhutan in November. Doing my research, I see that outside of Paro and Thimphu, a guide will be necessary for most destinations. I'd prefer not to buy a packaged tour, but instead do day trips, for example Paro-Tiger's Nest-Paro or Thimphu-Punakha-Thimphu. The reason I'd prefer not to buy a 4-5 day package tour is price (obvs), and I'd also prefer to choose my own accommodation and pace (just chill for a day if I want, etc).

Would it be easy (or even possible) to arrange such trips/guides once I'm in the country? Or would it be better to have it all set up before arriving? Thanks for any advice.

Planning a trip to Bhutan – anyone used “Bhutan Best Travel” before?

I’m currently in the early stages of planning a trip to Bhutan for later this year and have been doing a bit of research on local tour operators.

I recently stumbled upon a company called Bhutan Best Travel while looking at some travel sites. Their itineraries look pretty decent and they seem to have some good feedback online, but I haven't heard of them as much in local circles.

Has anyone here booked a trip with them before? Would love to hear about your experience with their planning, the guides they provide, and if the overall process was smooth (especially with the visa/entry permit requirements).

Alternatively, if you’ve been to Bhutan recently and have recommendations for other reliable operators that handle everything well, I’m all ears. Appreciate any advice!

Wild strawberries in Bhutan

I had been to Bhutan last week and while going from Punakha to Paro, apart from the amazing views of Himalayas, we found wild strawberries across the road!

Make sure to have a halt and pick as many wild strawberries as possible and taste them!

Travel Insurance Advice - Going by road via Bagdogra

Looking for advice on purchasing a travel insurance for my upcoming Bhutan trip next month (in June first half). I'll be landing in Bagdogra and then heading to Bhutan via road and it seems no insurance provider has a policy that covers the trip if entry to the destination country is via road.

All are saying that for the policy to be eligible, the travellers need to enter the destination country via an internation flight.

For folks who have travelled to Bhutan and availed a travel insurance, really looking for some help here.

Not sure if this matters - I have booked the land package through a travel company and I am travelling from India.

Dress code for foreigners + weather 7th june-13th june + reccs

Hi! Visiting Bhutan from 7th–13th June and had a few questions.
I know knees and shoulders should be covered in monasteries — are jeans okay? Any colours or outfits to avoid?
Outside monasteries, are crop tops, short dresses, sleeveless or off-shoulder tops acceptable? I want to be respectful of the traditions and customs there.
Also, how rainy is Bhutan in early June (7th-13th) ? Is travel usually still manageable during that time? Have already booked the tickets so hoping for the best🤞🧿
Would also love:
• veg food/restaurant recommendations
• Bhutanese veg dishes to try
• any tourist tips or things to be aware of
Thank you!
