People definitely undersold how difficult this game really is.
I kept seeing debates about which game is the hardest of the three: Khazan, Nioh, or Sekiro. I just started Sekiro after beating the other two games, and I have to say, Sekiro is super punishing. I can’t believe people were saying that Nioh and Khazan are harder.
Don’t get me wrong, I died a lot in both of those games, mainly to the bosses in Khazan. I know a lot of people might disagree with me, but I would say Sekiro has a lot of unfair difficulty. I never really felt that way in Khazan, though. The enemies in Sekiro, especially the mini-bosses, feel like they do way too much damage. Going through the levels is also so much more difficult in Sekiro compared to Khazan.
I just can’t believe people compare these games to each other. People say the first game you play is the hardest, but brothers, that’s just not true at all!
I fought Lady Butterfly and I was like, “WTF?” Then I fought those mini-bosses in Ashina Castle and I was like, “WTF?” I don’t know if this game is going to get easier or not, but I do feel like the game has a lot of unfair difficulty, which I didn’t really feel with Khazan. I did feel it a bit in Nioh 2, though.
People were complaining that Khazan’s bosses had too much HP, but Sekiro’s bosses’ posture lasts just as long, and there aren’t any ridiculous combos you can pull off to melt the bosses.
I know I just started Sekiro, so maybe my opinion will change as I get further into the game. I’m curious—has anyone else played all three and felt the same way? I still think there’s a lot of unfair difficulty in Sekiro, though, especially because the enemies seem to do way too much damage.
