Are we playing the same game?

I’m seeing endless complaints on the difficulty, enemy health, not enough damage, etc. and I’m just confused. The game is certainly challenging but by no means does it feel impossible. I’m 11 hours in and have progressed at a nice pace with good exploration and it has been amazing - it’s a very charming game. Reading this sub tho I feel like I’m having a completely different experience than most people here lol. At least the steam reviews are mostly positive, the devs definitely deserve that.

Did we really needed bosses runsbacks?

I thought this was a thing of the past in the Souls‑genre; even the FS hasn’t made them for a long time.

In your opinion: Which Shell is the best/favorite? (technically in combat)

Mortal Shell 2 - Cloud Review(NVIDIA GeForce Now)

So I wanted to wait until I completely finished the game to make up my mind, I’m about 18 hours in, the world is dense, and difficult and beautiful, the combat is some of the best I’ve played in any game, and I’m actually interested in the lore and mystery of the harbinger and the shells and etc and the next thing I know Mortal Shell 2 Got taken off of GeForce Now by the publisher due to a audio bug on the cloud servers side… 70$ spent 18 hours in game 3 hours of sleep maybe and all of that gone, I’m not blaming anyone and I’m going to put on my optimist hat and hope that both teams realize 1. Cloud streaming is the future of gaming, why would I buy a 1800$ laptop when I can have one for 20$? And 2. That there are more than a few people waiting for this issue to get fixed, so please, for me, fix the damn audio GeForce.

Hotfix 2 - Live Now

Edit: This is live on PC. Since consoles require a bit more certification, we're working on getting the hotfix to y'all as soon as we can!

Hey y'all!

Thank you so much for taking the time to play the game, for giving us your feedback and for filing bug reports! The team is working hard to address them, and to make sure that you're able to play without bugs or crashes hindering your progress.

Bugfixes:

  • Misc. Crash Fixes, Stability, and Performance Improvements.
  • Equipping Slayer Seal from the beacon menu no longer causes UI to lock up.
  • Fix for player "stealing" enemy weapons during ripostes.

We may not reply immediately to all comments or posts (it's an embarassment of riches, all of your posts and comments!), but we do read them, and act on them!

Glimpse should not be a finite resource

Edit 1: new players be ware DO NOT SPEND GLIMPSE ON LOCATING SHELLS OR SUMMONING it is a waste.

Edit 2: or allow us to respec.

The current implementation leads to two pretty bad experiences for players.

A: You’re afraid to spend Glimpse on shells because you don’t know if a better one is coming later. So you end up hoarding the resource and barely get to experiment with different shell abilities.

B: You spend Glimpse as you encounter shells because you actually want to try their abilities, only to realise later that you’ve locked yourself out of some of the later-game shells or spread your Glimpse too thin to properly max out more than one.

Either way, neither feels particularly good. And on top of that, you can also spend Glimpse on locating shells and summoning them, which essentially feels like flushing a valuable resource down the toilet.

This resource seriously needs an adjustment.

Being able to respec would be ok too I suppose, but ideally imo glimpse should simply not be finite. The whole point should be encouraging experimentation, not making players feel punished for actually using it.

The Warden, Mortal Shell 2.

Axe, dagger, proxima shell lvl 3, lvl 15 Harbringer. This is a high risk, high reward game. Thought I'd post a fairly early boss fight since people keep saying its too hard/combat is bad.

I honestly havent had combat that got the heart racing like this since Sekiro and the world is probably the most interconnected i've also seen since Dark Souls 1 days.

Its tough. No doubt about it. You can see in the video what happens when i miss time a hit or two. Hope you all enjoy. I thought he was cool af. Too me its a 9/10, but I could not recommend it to some who is new to games like khazan or sekiro. It would be pain though you can just grind like in Elden Ring.

Why do they all get alerted from this far away when you're slowly walking? This is broken

Enemies around them also get alerted if you stray even a little in their direction while trying to mange those three. Also, it's not visible in the video, but Camera also behaves very weirdly when you lock on slope. It tilts upwards (and I'm not talking about auto realign, that was the first thing I disabled) which is very distracting.

Who else steps on absolutely every bear trap?

I'm just so used to sprinting in games and this game punishes me every single time lmao. I think its a bit excessive in certain areas

Dear Devs: Please Add Checkpoints at Shrines and Bosses

Love the game so far, love the early access and thanks for this awesome game, BUT 🙂 dying in a shrine and then respawning all the way back at a beacon makes the run back really tedious, especially because there aren't many shortcuts like you normally get in other Souls-like games. I really hope you add checkpoints at shrines and before boss fights.

It would also be great if we could collect our gloom before entering the boss arena. A few times I walked into a room without realizing there were two bosses waiting for me, died and then couldn't recover my gloom without starting the fight again.

Again, thanks devs and congrats for this awesome game.

Revered Edition

Anyone else order the revered edition and waiting for it to arrive? Mines not getting here until the 25th. Seeing everyone playing and praise the game so much is making the wait feel so damn long it’s killing me! 😭

Totally fair and reasonable death (slight rant included)

Overall I’m enjoying the game but there are definitely some issues related to the combat and tracking as well as bugs. The combat reminds me of lords of the fallen and isn’t tight like lies of p. The strong point of this game is the exploration but hopefully they can patch some of the annoying parts of the combat and balancing.
