My Tent Experiences :D

Forgive me for the random picture dump!

I have owned three types of tent saunas. I thought you all would appreciate the insights I’ve gained along the way.

Main takeaway: the Morzh Max tent is the best. Make sure to get a glass door for the stove.

I have owned the Morzh small, Morzh Max, and a large Mobiba tent.

The large Mobiba was a hassle to set up and I never used it much due to the complicated set up.

The small Morzh is very easy to transport, but you still need to lug around the stove. The heat is a bit harsh because you are closer to the stove, radiant heat from the stove is intense. Steam is nice, but also a bit intense. The ups and down in heat are more drastic. Not great for more than two people.

The Morzh Max tent is great. Easy to set up, I do it solo while camping all the time. The floor is a nice addition too, just put towels down to keep it from getting too wet.

The heat in the Morzh tent is really nice. You don’t get the radiant heat from the stove. The steam also travel more like a traditional sauna. It travels up from the stove, floats across the ceiling, then comes down nicely at the far end of the tent. Perfect for platzas with veniks/vithas.

The Morzh Max also has an interior wall that you can zip up, creating a third of the tent for a changing room.

The Morzh Max tent also offers two stove jacks in the roof. This allows for different placement of the stove. You can also run two stoves if you are in a very cold environment and want to beef up the heat. I’ve never run two stoves.

Regardless of what tent you have, make sure to get a stove with a glass door, Morzh offers the glass door as an option that you can easily swap out yourself.

Morzh has a rain cover for the roof, an excellent addition if you want to leave the tent up for extended periods of time.

I’ve run the Morzh Max in heavy winds and rain. 8it is very sturdy, especially if it is anchored to the ground with good tent stakes.

Keep the tent dry since the material is layered, you don’t want to store it damp or you will get mold. Same for the vinyl windows. Keep them dry to maintain clear windows.

I really need to make some benches with cedar for the looks and smells!

Happy to answer any questions!

Hi Livermore! I’m looking to put in a kit sauna that requires a 240V 40A hookup. Just wondering if anyone has an electrician recommendation? Maybe someone who has put in a sauna or hot tub? Thanks!
