I’m a hobbyist magician, and it’s really difficult to find other magicians like me in Israel. Are there any of you who live around Tel Aviv and are looking for a community as well?
I’m 21, so I’m mainly looking for people around my age or older. I’ve heard of the Israeli Magicians’ Association, but they seem to be geared mostly toward professionals, and I don’t perform magic professionally.
I'm currently at around low-intermediate level when it comes to sleights and card magic I believe, I can do basically all the basic stuff - double lift, some forces and controls, ambitious card, some color changes, a simple palm, false cuts etc. I'm currently learning perfect farrow shuffle and it's going pretty well. What should I learn to get better, and what sources do you recommend? I was thinking about the cull and the pass (since I kind of already can do a pass, just slow). What good moves and routines are there? And what is the best source for this level?
Thanks!
I'm going to London in September. What good magic shops are there? Preferably near Oxford Street but I'm willing to take a bus or train if needed. I've heard already about International Magic Shop, is it good for non-beginners? What type of magic do they sell? And what other good shops do you know?
Thank you!!
Same for any other type of long/short deck. I can't find anywhere to buy a mene tekel deck (there's only the project which I already bought), in case my own gets too worn out. And I'd like to experience with long/short decks in general. Will my idea work? I don't have a paper cutter, and even if I buy one I doubt I'll be able to make a svengali/mene tekel/etc deck properly with it.
It's the first Will Wight book I'm reading. Around page 90 or so there's suddenly a few pages about some woman coming to the planet from space, which seem to be completely unrelated to anything I read before. I know all of his books are part of the same universe/multiverse. Should I have read other books before to understand this scene? Will I have to read the other books to understand the scenes she'll be in? Or is just a small reference for fans?
Thanks!
