Y3S2 Mastery 50-80/90 - Fast Grind To The Max

Y3S2 Mastery 50-80/90 - Fast Grind To The Max

Heya, here's my method to max out Mastery in Y3S2 quickly.

Get as quickly as you can to WT4, then focus on the elite bosses. Make sure to level your ship rank higher than SR24. Why? At SR24 you're still able to get big infamy/mastery points. After that diminishing returns start to kick in, first with Tangena Rabe and Jok Kubwa.

Here's what you get with a ship rank of 24 while also using the Teuling's Nortorious Scoundrel buff:

  • L22 Tangena Rabe and Joka Kubwa 2212 infamy (diminishing returns after SR24: about 800 at SR25, SR26+ only 300)
  • L24 Dian Sinaga 3375 infamy
  • L26 Dirk Ankeren 4530
  • L28 Ah Pak 5355 infamy (the only dangerous of the bunch)
  • L29 Commander Zhang 5767 infamy (5692 + 75)

I keep the SR24 loadout as separate loadout for the keep, while also having my current maxed out loadout for Heralds of the Abyss ready. I will hit Mastery 80 within an hour.

What about Mastery 90?
You get 10 extra mastery points from completing the Seasonal Journey (while completing the new main story quests, Junk to Junk etc.

CRANE-LESS BARQUE - A Dream Comes True

At the moment, I'm listening to the Y3S2 deck stream on YT again and when discussing the new Abysmal Fleet rewards, Samuel Quek was mentioning that you will be able to buy a Barque skin (not the store deluxe skin) that has no cranes from Blackwood for the Abysmal Essence currency! Awesome! (How could I miss that one?! Oh right, it was 4am then here :D).

The picture above I photoshopped about rather exactly 2 years ago, when complaining about the cranes, so the final skin will probably look a bit different.

Who knows, maybe we get a clean Brig too some day?

Y3S2 - Seasonal Perks - Impetus

Disclaimer: picture elements are from the dev stream, no idea if valid at release, but hey, with 5 days to go, chances are unlikely something will be changed

Heya, I put the new central Mastery Perks in a picture (1st picture) along with the description to spin some ideas and discuss the use. It starts with Impetus Order as first and the lowest perks as last unlocks. In the game this order is reversed vertically. There are also highend perks at the end of each tree section that involve impetus (see 2nd picture).

Y3S2 seasonal perks are all about Impetus: a stack system, built up on hits, crew attacks, ramming or simply sailing around (depending on your choices).

Personally, I find the use questionable. Many of the passive effects only last seconds and need you to "unload" your impetus to get charged again. Same for effects that are triggered by "generating impetus" - if you're at max stacks you don't generate more so a discharge is needed.

Battering Force and Unstoppable Force look pretty useless to me as Impetus generators.

An attack discharge can be done either by Stormblaze Order (which probably results in a badly timed or random discharge) or by Firepower Order and a deliberate auxiliary shot.

Stormblaze advantage: you do not have to count your impetus and can trigger it automatically whenever ready, disadvantage: you might trigger it at a bad moment. High potential vs. groups if at high health (tank builds?).

Firepower Order: sounds more reasonable and you just need to fire your aux, not make it hit. Strength depends on how strong those weakpoint hits are (does weakpoint bonus apply?)

My choices: Impetus Order - Relentless Force - Heavy Bombardment/Weakness Finder - Stormblaze/Firepower Order, depending on the target (group/single target).

As for the Impetus at the end of tree branches. I saw but one in the video (lower left, elemental damage branches): Battle Tempo - increases maximum stacks of Impetus by 5. I assume the other branches do just the same.

What are your thoughts on Impetus? Do you see real potential? Will you use it tactical or go with the flow?

Y3S2 Dev Stream: Twitch drop pictures and quick summary

Heya, here's some pictures of today's twitch drops in game. I really like it! No weird-ass colour scheme and a nice battered and weathered look to it. This ship has seen stuff! Also: a nice and clean natural wooden deck, love it!

Here's a quick summary of the talking points, they're from memory, no notes. So don't nail me on them being complete.

  • FW: DMC is replaced by Phoenix Talons, no hint why the Dutch get out of it after their first win. All hail the Pirate Queen! Aurevoir, Compagnie!
  • Mastery Loadouts will be handled like cosmetic loadouts, separate tab and can be applied to any ship directly. Awesome!
  • Mastery UI will be changed, so you can take a full screenshot of your loadout without messing around with Paint & Co. Nice!
  • New Mastery Max of 90 Levels
  • Mastery Tree seems widely untouched but for center perks and new end of the branch perks, which all involve the new Impetus mechanics: some kind of stack system that can be used for special attacks. Hard to tell how it will work out.
  • Mod transfer: will allow you to transfer ascension mods withing a weapon type (e.g. long gun to long gun, bombard to bombard etc.)
  • New ascension materials for those transfers: ascension flux and abyssal essence, maybe more
  • New faction: Harolds Heralds of the Abyss (I will call them the Harrys from now on), the Harrys probably drop the new ascension material abyssal essence
  • The Harrys will feature armored weakpoints. Think of strong patchwork you have to shoot of first
  • Items can be salvaged from the ship now and the materials wander directly to your warehouse! AWESOME
  • New Adept Mods are tied to the new faction events and will have improved stats (not clear how much), but they seem to be the new hot stuff
  • Barque Deluxe Skin will come next season, looks awesome and true to the concept art
  • Standard Ammo will be gone, but they're thinking of special ammo in the future. Love it. Carrying around 40-50k ammo of all sorts was fucking ridiculous (do the math and you come up with displacements in the region of modern super tankers)
  • No additional warehouse space >> mod transfer will change your item management, get ready for major spring cleaning
  • Caustic Spall Station will see a further nerf (no specifics)
  • They're working on new Codex pages for affixes, buffs and debuffs so you can look up all those effect icons

Can you please stop this crap?

Nothing to see here, move on. The main problem (specific car type/manufacturer) has been solved in the background already. There is still matchmaking issues, but that's mostly player-related (uninformed players like me who don't know about the requirement lift and leave if they don't have a Mustang of the required class or match quitters).

There has been several complaints in former playlists with Touge Showdown and it seems the dev is aware of the issue. We probably won't see specific car requirements in future Touge Showdowns.

From what I read in the replies:
- FE Cars don't count?
- Car restriction for the challenge has been removed (the text ingame for the requirement hasn't changed). See Forza Forum:
FH6 Festival Playlist events and rewards June 18-25 (Series 2 Week 1) - Forza Horizon 6 / FH6 Discussion - Official Forza Community Forums
- While there is no "Jump to Manufacturer" during car selection in race prep, you can use the Sort Function (X/Square) and filter for the Manufacturer
- All in all, it comes down to you having any car of the required class... and matchmaking. Win a single race and you're good (just finish it if the other guy leaves) or lose a championship, just stay to lose (as long as you don't use FE cars).
- This part of reddit is full of wankers

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's one thing, if you can play it solo, another one if you have to stick to a specific car and a random tier level in a two-players online run! Changed according to Forza Forum (see link above).

If you finally got a matchmaking where nobody of the two participants has left, next crap is the car selection where you cannot select the needed manufacturer... you have to scroll through your collection of cars of that tier... While there is no "Jump to Manufacturer" during car selection in race prep, you can use the Sort Function (X/Square) and filter for the Manufacturer.

After that, you're up to the mercy of the other guy staying (if on a losing streak). Or you just go for 2 losses. But guess what? That's not enough, despite having COMPLETED the championship. It should be enough as long as you finish your races, unless it was in a FE car (no official source of that statement).

The whole experience is frustrating and not fun at all.

Fix this shit asap or remove it from the festival playlist altogether. It's worse than finding guys for an unbeatable race. After the change to the car requirements (s. link at the top), it's likely we won't see similar requirements in future playlist.

Took me over 30mins to complete that part of the festival playlist.
... Not enough players
... no car of that tier
... setup Mustangs from B to S2... thanks for that waste of time... (not necessary as it turned out)
... got a match and car, other guy left
... got a match and lost two races, championship over... not completiion... (issues with FE cars?)
... Network matchmaking errors, not enough players (guess I'm not the only one, not up to date on this)
... got a S2 match, other guy botched a curve and left after 24s, run over... completed

WTF... WHAT IS THE POINT?!
The playlist challenge is has been altered already, it just doesn't tell you in game. To finish:
- have any car of the tier class (B to S2) for the Touge Showdown, no Ford or Mustang required
- do not use Forza Edition cars (they apparently do not count)
- finish your races (e.g. when someone quits the race). You do not have to run all three races of the showdown (e.g. you lose the first two races, championship is over and you've completed the challenge)
