Please help guys 😭 i always messed up

I messed up my name while filling NIOS details (no surname / incomplete naming structure), and now I’m stuck figuring out the actual correction process.

Here’s what I found after digging through the system:

NIOS allows corrections under “Basic Details Correction”, but the categories are split and slightly confusing:

Name Change: ₹400

Name Correction: ₹400

Father’s Name Correction: ₹400

Mother’s Name Correction: ₹400

Guardian Name Correction: ₹100–₹200

DOB Correction: ₹400

Problem:

There’s no clear distinction between Name Change vs Name Correction. For people like me who simply didn’t enter surname/middle name properly, it’s unclear which one applies.

What I need clarity on:

Which option applies if the name is incomplete (not legal change)?

Exact documents required (Aadhaar, affidavit, etc.?)

Deadline window for correction before exams/admit card finalization

Whether admission card will update automatically after correction or needs reissue

Please help guys

I’m trying to register for Class 12 (Senior Secondary, Stream 1 Block 1) on the NIOS student portal, but I’ve hit a major roadblock.

My official Class 10 marksheet only lists my name as "HARISH"—I don't have a surname or a middle name. However, the portal seems to require a "Last Name" to proceed. Every time I try to go to the next step, I get a popup saying: "Please fill all the valid details."

I’ve already tried:

Calling the toll-free number (not much help).

Double-checking all other fields (Aadhaar, Email, etc. are all correct).

Questions for the community:

Has anyone with a single name successfully registered recently?

Should I put a dot . in the last name field, or repeat my name? I'm worried this will mess up my final certificate.

Is there a specific way to contact the Delhi Regional Centre that actually gets a response?
