Are there helpful reddits?

Hello all, I usually come on here with questions, looking for advice, and/or to answer questions/give advice. I’ve noticed many of my posted questions

  1. get a lot of views and no answers
  2. get answers that are snarky and not actually answers or helpful
  3. devolve completely into unrelated movie quotes and jokes while I’m still waiting for valuable input.

Is this what Reddit is now or am I posting in the wrong subreddits?

Currently I have a few unrelated questions but not sure if a subreddit exists for them-
—-Contractor did work incorrectly and damaged my home- not sure what to do and if I should contact BBB or a lawyer.
—-hosting a yard sale in my specific community and not sure if they’re still a modern thing/where to advertise it.
Thanks for any help

Are yard sales still a thing?

I haven’t done a yard sale in a LONG time. Are they still a thing? I have so much stuff to get rid of and it’s random. Funkos, shoes, purses, Pyrex, and vintage kitchenware and depression glass. Is there even an interest in that stuff in this area? Has anyone had a yard sale lately? What were your experiences?
Where do I post it? I was thinking Craigslist and Facebook and put up a road sign. I appreciate any help and tips!! Thanks a bunch.

IIH and GLP-1

Hey all, I’m recently diagnosed with IIH with tortuosity of the optic nerves and empty sella (or maybe it’s just a below average pituitary). I saw a neurologist who just told me to lose weight so I’m looking for a new neurologist. (For several reasons but not because of that lol). I just started with a new endocrinologist and she is not too helpful either but she DID prescribe me GLP-1 for weight loss which is great because there is emerging data that shows GLP-1 directly reduces CSF production and alleviates symptoms of IIH quickly. The downside is the hoops we’ll have to jump through for insurance to cover it AND my doctor does not seem to care enough to go through those hoops. Has anyone been through this before? I’m trying to #1- get glp1 covered and get my dr to help with that. Can’t do diamox because I have history of kidney stones in case insurance wants me on that first. #2- find a good endocrinologist because I don’t know about her. (She seems to diagnose the paper and not the person. My levels are all normal but all low so obviously I’m normal and making it up right?) #3- find a neuro ophthalmologist. I’m in Florida.
I’m worried about my weight and fatigue but also very worried about my vision. I have daily eye pain, seeing things out of the corner of my eye, see bright flashes, have tinnitus, neck and shoulder pain, and vertigo. Happy for any help and happy to find a Reddit community where I can not feel alone. IIH sucks, man. But it’s not cancer so how bad can it be? (The feeling I get from other people)
