Beat my fear of heights and completed the full Bright Angel trail yesterday
My girlfriend and I hiked the entire Bright Angel trail in the Grand Canyon yesterday and I’m feeling extremely proud and relieved. It was her first real hike and my first one with such intense cliffs and drop offs. I’ve always been scared of heights so this was a big one for me.
Forgot to start the watch right away, so this should be closer to 8.5 hours. Probably could have done it quicker but I twisted my ankle on the way down, so we decided to rest for an hour to see if I was good to continue. The weather was perfect to start the day but definitely got on the way back up around noon. We’re both from the southeast, so the heat didn't bother us as much as some people, but we wouldn’t have made it without regular hydration and fueling.
Overall, awesome experience that has me wanting to hike more. Just not for the next week because my hips are completely shot from the trip up
