I’m in rankin county. Does anyone need a mascot for any event.

It’s May right now and I’m starting college in August. There are two local minor league teams I really want to perform for (offseason events this fall + full 2027 season).
When is the best time to reach out/email them? Should I do it now for any offseason stuff, or wait until after the current season ends?
I’m also pretty nervous because the last two teams I tried contacting were pretty harsh with their “no”s. Any advice on how to approach this professionally? What should my call/email look like? Should I attach a resume even with limited experience?
Looking for any tips from people who’ve done minor league mascot work — timing, what teams look for, how to handle rejection, etc. Appreciate it!
Why did I choose a school without a mascot? Idk I’m sorta regretting it, their academics were too good to pass up.
