So I recently got a job delivering beer out of a side loader. I live in Nevada and it’s been 95- 100 degrees the past couple weeks. I am really struggling mostly because my truck has no working AC. I am outside bringing beer into a store dying of heat, sweating and my face is bright red, to the point where everyone’s asking me if I’m okay or need water.. then get back in the truck and it’s even hotter in there then it is outside. They guys that have been there a while see it kind of as a right of passage because they’ve all worked the old truck they gave me with no AC. But it’s honestly brutal. Other than that I like the job and it’s good $. And I’m fresh out of CDL school so it’s one of the few jobs that will take me. Just wondering what yall would do in this situation? It feels messed up

Hi I’m a new swift driver. I am picking up a load that said to call a # for a security escort. 2 guys in a car wearing security uniforms met me at my pick up and are expecting to follow me from my pick up to my drop off. I asked my driver leader and he said he’s never heard of this but is telling me to just roll with it. Is this a thing?? I’ve called 2 driver leaders now and none of them have heard of a thing like this for swift but said it’s fine.

Hey everyone I just passed my training and am starting my first day solo tomorrow. Staying in my truck the company gave me (2024 Volvo) tonight and it has Idle Smart. I have it running right now with key in the off position.. it idles my truck for about 30 minutes, then shuts it off…. Then almost immediately within a minute or 2 turns the engine back on and runs another 30 minutes. Seems kinda useless I may as well just idle the engine non stop at this rate.. I figured it would shut down for a couple hours until the battery voltage got low enough for it to kick back on a charge it. Any ideas what it could be?
