Living near Central West Shopping Centre

Relative looking at some rental near Central West Shopping Centre, think near or on Ashley Street. How's the area? Is it safe? Google tells me it might be the roughest spot in West Footscray. I haven't live in Melbourne for a long time, so have zero clue. Thanks.

Gross Rental yield for houses in Auckland

Looking to purchase an IP (house) in Auckland for $1-$1.5m budget. What's a typical yield I should expect? Hoping for one of the better suburbs. Google tells me I could get between 3.5-4.5% yield but happy to be corrected.

Varazdin Advent Market

Hi all,

We have about 4 days in Zagreb in late December and was thinking of visiting Varazdin Advent market for one of the day. We are a family of 4 with 12 and 3 year old kids.

Is it worth making a day trip there or perhaps even an overnight? We already have quite a few things we would like to do in Zagreb but the Varazdin Advent Market looks very lovely.

Thank you.

Croatia in December/January

Hi all, family of 4 (with 12 and 3 year old kids) going to Croatia at the end of this year for the first time.

We will be in Slovenia before that and will be arriving in Zagreb around 29th December. Current itineraries are:

29-31st Dec: Zagreb - day trip to Varazdin

1-2 Jan: Split (flight from Zagreb to Split).

3 Jan: Mostar - plan is to rent a car from Split and do a road trip and return the car in Dubrovnik

4 Jan: Kotor

5-6 Jan: Dubrovnik

7 Jan: flight back to Zagreb then departing day after from Croatia back home.

Any feedback is welcome as we haven't lock in the accommodation and transport yet. I do note that it might seem a bit rush to cover so many places but it seems like a miss to skip places like Mostar and Kotor while we are nearby.

Also, where is better to celebrate NYE, Zagreb, Split or Dubrovnik, especially for young kids?

Thank you.
