Nicaraguan Remote Worker hired through Deel; Will I start paying Taxes if I get an USA 🇺🇸 ITIN?

I’m from Nicaragua and have been working remotely for a US Company for around 4 years now.
I opened a Bank of America Account back in March 2025 while visiting as a Tourist and I think I shouldn’t have done that, and I’ve been sending the money I get paid from Deel to BoFA debit card and then I send it to Nicaragua using Remitly.
But here is the thing, I want to start building credit in the USA and I’m thinking of getting an ITIN number, I make only 46,200 a year not counting how much I pay in fees to get the money into my local account.
My question is: if I get an ITIN, will I start paying taxes to the US government? AI 🤖 says I won’t because I’m not stepping on US soil while earning that money. But I want to read your thoughts 💭.
