Trying to wrestle this hefty gal out of the tent in one piece so I can hang it as is my preferred method of drying.. however this experience can be described as trying to wrestle a grizzly covered in super glue 😅 pretty sure I'm going to have to break down and well.. break her down. Not the prettiest finish product (thanks to me mis-diagnosing a fairly obvious issue and essentially starving her for a minute 🫣) but come on look at those footballs huh? And the smell... I've never grown anything black cherry which in hindsight is odd because I love black cherry but yeah the smell lol.. straight up cherries. Almost seems fake. Anyways, I'm not done with the trim, just wanted to get the fans, and then the majority of the sugar leaves off to improve airflow for drying. In a few days I'll go into my cure-room with a green light and huck off the rest of the sugar leaves and do my finishing trim. I'll be sure to include updates of the flower completely finished/cured. Quick update on my current SpeedRun grow.

The freak of nature that's just shy of 6 ft on her tallest colas on the left is the Orange Portal cross, very light lst at the start and topped once at 7th node. After that I just decided to let her do her thing and just monitor all other pertinent parameters. Really excited to see her continue to stack. The little lady on the right with the giant Thai stick style fruit is obviously the Dreamcast cross. Please try to ignore all of the older scarred growth.. for a space of almost a month I was chasing my tail thinking that I was dealing with an extremely stubborn case of negative cation exchange.. in the sense that I would feed with 5.6-7pH and the runoff would be 6.9, 6.8, even saw 7.2 one morning. So after reading some stuff and talking to a few people I decided to go the gently being the pH down overtime by watering heavily until like 50% runoff because I thought my coco was holding onto nutrients as if it wasn't properly buffered (it was, lol.) Fast forward the tape with me scratching my head in the background for a bit until reddit came to the rescue yet again. Shout-out u/URUNascar for figuring out that I was just underfeeding so my plants would produce extra anions after "cleaning their plates" thereby causing the pH to rise off the charts. Adjusted the diet a touch and within a couple days my runoff was testing a few points above what I poured and the girls bounced back in a big way. Always a learning experience 😅 Now every time my exhaust fan kicks on my entire house is filled with an almost overwhelming piney, blueberry, gasoline scented atmosphere that is so characteristic of SpeedRun.

Current diet for both plants is 8mL Fox Farms Cal-Mag, 10 mL Humboldts Secret Part A, 10mL Humboldts Secret Part B, 2.5mL Humboldts Secret Flower Stacker, 5.7 pH. One Gallon per, 2x daily at 6am (lights on) and they usually drop their EC from .42-6, to .18 by 6-7pm and they get their second gallon. I've found that anything lower than .16 and they start to droop.

Cracked this jar 5 minutes ago and my kitchen still smells like someone got their skittles in my gas can. Don't ask why I have a gas can in the kitchen neither!

Hucked a Z-Man LT SWAG with the sickle hook out the top, let it hit bottom and sit for a tick, then started a nice slow retrieve and not long after leaving bottom this tank absolutely toilet bowled the entire lure. To the point that my line was so dramatically walking right there was no doubt she had it set. So I leaned back and it was on like donkey Kong. Had the pleasure of fighting her the entire 100+ft of dock I had walked out on because I didn't want to break my leader trying to dock flip her. Breached 3 times and still stayed pinned. Shout-out Z-Man for making a killer product. Excuse the French, if my colorful language doesn't suit you then turn the volume down. Tight lines ladies and germs! 🤘🎣

WTF? Coco pH keeps CLIMBING despite 5.0 pH flushes. I’m about to lose it.

I’m in early flower with two autos (SLAMberry x Orange Portal, and an S.B.C.H x Dreamcast both by SpeedRun seeds)in cloth pots with coco, and I am stuck in a groundhog day type scenario and am starting to lose confidence. More so I just feel really bad that they're suffering.

I’ve been feeding both:

8mL/gal Fox Farm Bush Doctor Cal-Mag

4mL/gal Humboldts Secret Part A (4-0-1)

4mL/gal Humboldts Secret Part B (1-4-2)

pH'd down to 5.7 - 5.8 normally.

The Issue:

My runoff skyrocketed to I’ve been trying to "Nuclear Purge" this shit for two days. Today, I’ve been pouring in full-strength nutrients adjusted to a pH of 5.0

The runoff is actually getting HIGHER. I just got a 6.82 and a 6.72 after putting gallons of 5.0 through them. How the fuck is the pH going UP when I’m hitting it with straight acid?

This coco WAS buffered before the pots were packed.

Runoff was totally healthy/normal for weeks.

Environment: 79°F, 61% RH (1.32VPD), CO2 580ppm.

PPFD 468

Medium WC is 44%, EC is low (.19).

The plants are starting to yellow at the top (Iron/Lockout) and I’m about to lose this entire medicine run. Both of my herniated discs are absolutely screaming from lugging these gallons and I’m seeing zero progress.

Is the coco breaking down? Is there some kind of insane salt precipitation happening that raises pH? I have never seen a medium fight back this hard before.
