I'm writing this to ask for your suggestions on how I can sue my immigration lawyer and in general how to take actions without affecting our application.

I have multiple reasons for wanting this and some of them from what I have read are grounds for a case.

1. the lawyer falsely advertised PNP stream of PEI as 2 year process towards PR. They also have had extremely poor means of communication . Our provincial approval alone for federal took 3 years alone . This was after we had already gotten a provincial nomination.
2. They made a stupid mistake of uploading two files interchangeably in the wrong fields and that caused our first federal PR application refusal setting us back 6 months . Additionally, instead of appeal they applied again for a new PR and that has now caused us to wait for additional 2 years.

From the time we started till now it has been 6 painful years. And now that our family's main applicant is stuck in background check process , he as been unresponsive for weeks now and refuses to follow up via any means (officer note, web form , etc).

They have cause one refusal , they are extremely unresponsive and their office phone line is literally not even working . I am at my wits end and at this point I want to sue them for all the financial and emotional damages they have caused me and my family.

Please direct me to what I need to search to find resources and people to sue them . They are still on the file as representative but we are afraid of removing them without doing the proper steps before. They have all our files and communications and we need to gather all the evidence before removing them. What can we do ? We can't even reach them now to request for information. Should we remove them ASAP?

I’m writing to ask for your advice on how I can pursue legal action against my immigration consultant and, more generally, how to proceed without negatively affecting our application.

I have several reasons for wanting to take legal action, some of which, based on what I have read, may provide grounds for a case.

1-The consultant falsely advertised the PEI PNP stream as a two-year pathway to permanent residence. They have also demonstrated extremely poor communication throughout the process. The provincial stage alone took three years, even though we had already received a provincial nomination.

2-They also made a serious mistake by uploading two documents in the wrong fields, with each document placed where the other belonged. This caused our first federal permanent residence application to be refused and set us back by approximately six months. Instead of appealing the refusal, they submitted a new permanent residence application, which has now resulted in an additional two-year wait.

It has been six painful years since we began this process. Now that our family’s principal applicant is stuck in the background-check stage, our consultant has been unresponsive for weeks and refuses to follow up through any available means, such as requesting officer notes or submitting a web form.

Their mistake caused one refusal, they have been extremely unresponsive, and their office phone line is not even working. I am at my wits’ end. At this point, I want to pursue legal action for the financial and emotional harm they have caused my family and me.

Please advise me on what I should search for and which resources or legal professionals I should contact to pursue a case against them. They are still listed as the authorized representative on our application, but we are afraid to remove them without first taking the proper steps. They possess our documents and communications, and we need to gather all available evidence before removing them.

What can we do if we cannot reach them to request our records? Should we remove them as our representative as soon as possible?
