Finally!!!
January 2025, we found out my husband had extremely low sperm count (like in the low hubdreds) and we were told we would need IVF. We could never afford IVF in our lives, I’m in education and my husband is a musician haha. Then my in laws very graciously offered to pay for it, no strings attached. I cried, I was so grateful.
I had my egg retrieval in June 2025 and my husband did several sperm deposits and had ZERO sperm. They decided to freeze my eggs as we wait for sperm. After lots of testing and awkward ultrasounds, they determined he would need surgery to extract his sperm.
A few months later I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and was told I had to get half my thyroid removed. I had surgery in December of 2025. I also found out that month that I was pregnant! I then had an early miscarriage (chemical). This prompted us to do another sperm sample to see what is going on there. He successfully deposited 300k sperm. They froze his sperm and we finally had some stuff to work with.
Of my 10 eggs, 9 were mature and 2 made it to blast. After PGT testing, only one embryo made it through. My in laws call it “the little embryo that could”.
My husband I kept trying naturally for a few months to see if we even needed IVF. We had no success. Then June 3rd, I transferred my AA 6 day euploid. I am now 7 days post transfer and got this positive this morning. I tested out my trigger and now my positives are getting darker. I go in for my beta on Monday, the 15th.
It may be premature, but I am reveling in the fact that my little embryo that could made it this far. I can’t help but feel so happy.
I have a 10 year old son from a previous marriage and we are all just so excited to grow our blended family. Thanks for reading this far!
