Hey team, I’ve just released a substantial update to my free Art Assistant web app. The new Colour Study mode simplifies your reference image into paintable colour shapes. It detects and organises its colours, and lets you the isolate colour groups. It also includes adjustable detail levels and improved mobile controls.

I’d love any feedback from painters/teachers.

Hey everyone, I’m an oil painter from Melbourne Australia and I’ve been building a small web app to help with drawing and painting from reference.

I originally made this for myself because I wanted a simple place to keep a few tools I regularly use while painting, without jumping between different apps.

I included a library with a few master works for students to choose from, or you can upload your own. All the data is stored locally on your device, so there’s no data sharing or logins required.
