Essex police (rejoiner)

Hello legends, I was a 6 year PC and I’m looking to go to Essex as a rejoiner, I was considering the met but I’ve been told to run a mile from it, Essex would actually be a shorter commute and my new Mrs lives there too.

I’ve put down Loughton and Harlow NHPT as my top choices for location and department, but I’d be happy to go response too.

Any of you work over that way and can tell me a bit about what it like working there? E.G morale, workloads, promotion opportunities and what it’s like getting courses, I was response and IPP (still in ticket) but I was waiting for taser and L2

Police to ambo

Evening legends, I've recently left the police after 6 years, and I'm looking for whats next for me. I've always been interested in emergency medicine and had my public order medic course booked in for later this year.

I was thinking about applying for a paramedic apprenticeship and wanted to ask your guys opinion on

  1. Is it worth going the apprenticeship route?

  2. Has anyone made the same jump and regretted it?

Afternoon legends, I was in a met neighbouring force for 6 years, mainly response and I was response driver, IPP, taser, L2 and ad hoc sergeant. I wanted to transfer to the met but decided to take a break from policing and go as a rejoiner instead

Today I got invited to book an assessment centre at Kennington and was wondering if anyone can advise me on what to expect from it? I'm not too concerned about passing the interview stage but are there any other aspects to the assessment centre?

Also, in my previous force I was a tutor, I genuinely enjoyed it and would work on a tutoring unit if the option arose. Does the met have a dedicated tutoring unit or is it done on shift/NHPT like most forces?

Edit: will my driving quals carry over or would I need to wait and redo the full course?
