Accidentally laughing at a customer

A customer walked up to me at till with confidence energy, he looked me dead in the eye and yelled

“Can I have some extra slim tits?”

Before I could tell him that this is Tesco and not Ann Summers. What he actually said was “extra slim tips”.

I gave him the cigarette papers and had to leave the till because I had a laughing fit and couldn’t form a sentence. Defo one of the highlights of my career

Have you ever laughed at a customer unintentionally?

Who actually pays attention to the fire alarm?

Whenever we do a fire alarm test in the store once a week. I have never seen any customers react to it

They just carry on with their shopping like it’s just another day

I’m just thinking that if there was actually a fire, would they still continue shopping?? 😂

Can you do 2 shifts on the same day? Overtime

I’m contracted to work 14:00 - 20:00 on a Monday but there is an overtime shift for a 6:00 - 12:00

I’m just wondering if you’re allowed to do 2 in the same day because management may be concerned why i decided to work 12 hours

Will they care, judge or am I a psychopath?

Failed a Think 25 test purchase, am I cooked?

I work in an express store, and this is my first failed test purchase in 6 years. I don’t even remember it happening

I wasn’t told by my manager that I failed until I came back from my break so I have no idea who this individual was or how long ago it happened on a 9 hour shift. All I was told was I sold cigarettes and that this person was 19 years old so it was a test ran by Tesco, but am being investigated for it.

However, due to the nature of how chaotic till work in an express store is, packing bags, approving self checkouts, dealing with the public, cleaning, putting out stock on my flattop, walking back and forth on till, I don’t remember every single transaction from that day so I’m going to be useless in the investigation trying to remember it.

Thankfully I have passed a Think 25 in the past so hopefully that will be documented somewhere and to at least prove I know the policy but then again. I don’t want them to think I’m lying when I tell them I don’t remember it happening. I did check a lot of ID’s on that shift but must of slipped up?

Will they have CCTV of the transaction and what type of questions do they ask in a Think 25 investigation?

Any advice would be a great help!

I am the only male hairdresser working in a woman's hair salon. I cut, colour and perm women's hair to boost their confidence. I am also a barber but have transferred to do women’s hair for a while. I am down to answer some questions (besides the salon I work in)
