If you could workout only on the weekends, what would your workout look like?

Coming few months I’m gonna be held up at work on the weekdays. So I’ve got only Saturdays and Sundays for any kind of strength training. That includes both gym and at home. Currently I’m doing dedicated chest, lat, leg and shoulder days. Some core workouts on rest days. I’ve made good progress and I don’t wanna lose that. How should I plan my workout for the next few months that fit these in two day period?

Feeling lats for the first time.

I've been going to the gym for 6 months now. I try to progressive overload. Gym's InBody scans show fat loss and muscle gain. So I would like to think that I'm doing right. But yesterday was Lats and I felt the soreness for the first time. I've always felt the soreness in my legs, chest and shoulders but never in my lats. I did increase my weights. Did I do something wrong?

Following are the workouts: Assisted Pull-Ups, Lat Pull-Down, Seated Rowing, Bent Over Rowing, Dead Lifts, Double Arm Overhead Extension and Single Hand Kickback.

Need help to beat sleep after eating carbs rich fruits.

I've been on a low-carb diet for more than a year now and it has been great. I'm not diabetic or have pre-diabetes. I started it for weight loss and now trying to maintain it. Recently I've introduced overnight oats into my diet and I eat that with some fruits like frozen banana or mangoes (I cut and freeze them a day before). Every time I eat these mangoes I feel sleepy and it's been difficult to beat it. One of the days I ate oats and mangoes before going to the gym and the consequence was brutal. Other fruits don't affect me this much. Also I always begin my meal with very fiber rich foods followed by protein rich food and whole avocado in the mix and lastly oats with fruits. Yet sleepiness is inevitable every time.

I want to have control over my body and how can I do that? TIA.

How low should I squat?

A trainer at the gym said to not go beyond 90 degrees on super squats machine and smith machine squats. But fitness enthusiasts on youtube squat way further down (their butt touch their heels). Which one is right? I'm a beginner. Should I stop the squat at 90 degrees (thighs parallel to the floor) or go further?

Is plant based protein good enough?

I’m not in a rush to build muscles. I’m willing to wait for a slow progress. I’ve never consumed any kind of protein powder before (neither whey nor plant based protein). Some days I can’t hit my protein target because food prep consumes a lot of time. I’m strength training and recent bmi revealed loss in muscle mass (compared to last months’s bmi data). Plant based ones are cheaper too. My question is whether plant based protein powder is good enough to maintain muscle mass? I’m not vegan.

Please list possible reasons for your lesser reps or lower weights workouts.

My last session I was not able to overload or match my previous sessions’s weights or reps. I felt fine going to the gym but during the lat pull-downs, I couldn’t match my previous reps.

Could following be the reasons?

  1. I ate well but my workout session was 40mins after my first meal of the day.
  2. I only slept for 5 hours and not very pleasant sleep either.
  3. I’ve been standing all morning before my workout session.

What about you guys? What could be the reason for your groggy workouts?

Dear OMADers, what is the reason for your OMAD?

Are you eating OMAD for weightloss, maintenance, avoiding food noise, health condition or some other reasons? Are you able to hit your targeted calories? Do you take supplements because you can't consume all of them in one meal?

Has anyone here used electric curd/ yogurt maker?

I'm thinking of buying an electric curd/ yogurt maker from Amazon. Price ranges from INR 699 for Agaro or Saporo to INR 999 for Instacuppa. Have you ever used these machines and are they useful at all?

Many amazon reviews mention that there is no auto turn-off feature which means we have to turn it off after 8-9 hours. Also some reviews mention that their machine stopped working after few uses.
