[Announcement?] An introduction of the boyband

Hoshinaga Yuii

The protagonist, main vocalist of Eaglewave. Has sweet voice and white hair, giving a "heart-warming boyfriend" vibe, usually of being cautious, but becomes quietly stubborn on whatever he thinks the duty's on him, even if it’s risky.

Takada Renji

Imagine Oli Syke and a beast idol having a fusion, that’s how you get Renji. As the leader and co-founder of Eaglewave, he has very high personality and ego, enjoys playing with different music genres and lyrics’ topics. Aside from that, he's caring to the staff. According to what others said, Kurogawa, the producer of Eaglewave, and him used to be good partners, nobody knows how they became so cold to each other.

Miuri Tadashi

The pragmatism of Eaglewave, with dark skin and visible muscle lines. He enjoys sports, and quietly carries the duty and difficulties as underground idols. He’s the one who comforts Renji when he’s moody. Has a 3-years younger sister, Miuri Inori.

Hatayama Naoki

Portrayed as another boyfriend vibe member in the band, behind the scene hides a loud man who dislikes his job. He stayed because Renji promised them to form an individual band(A real band, he said) one day. Has red hair and sharper eyes than Yuii.

I'm sorry for being late again, I'll post the next chapter in the next 3 days, it's my promise, no more distraction from now on.

How do you guys beat this level? It's impossible to me

I've tried almost a hundred times.... is there anything I'm missing?

[Discussion] What if we're beating GOT8 WITHOUT peach power?

I have two ideas:

1.Set fire

According to the legend, Izanami had her death when she was birthing the fire god Kagutsuchi. Since GOT8 are borned from her dead body, that would be a deep trauma written in the back of their mind. Setting up fire, and they'd run away like Demogorgons.

But there are merely any combustible items inside Mato, so that bring us to the next solution.

2....

[Fanfiction] Chained Soldier: Odd One Out—Chapter 2

Sorry guys, I've been working on the school things too much. I'll keep the story updating on a basis of 1 chapter/2 weeks, please keep supporting Triple O story

link to the previous chapter: [Fanfiction] Chained Soldier: Odd One Out—Chapter 1

>Note: This story is a complete AU of the Chained Soldier, the genre is not romance, not action, and definitely not harem. The early story won't have much to do with the MDF, it would be mostly slow-burn, but I would make sure not to mistreat every canon character. I wish you could have an open mind of what would happen, if you're okay with everything above, enjoy;)

Chapter 2: Into nightfall

Yuii couldn't believe his eyes.

The landscape around him was still nothing but rocks, cliffs, and ashes. There was no road, no building, no sign of civilization anywhere in sight. Even the sky felt wrong, completely empty of stars, as if someone had erased them from existence.

He remembered the instructions.

“If you, unluckily, got trapped inside of Mato, try to hide away in your closest places and wait for the rescue.” The propaganda that day felt like a distant echo, fade into the air, he knew what he had to do, except his legs were numbed. It took a couple of seconds for him to regain control of his body.

Yuii quickly crouched behind a large rock, pressing his back against its cold surface. His breathing was still unstable from the sudden transition, but he forced himself to stay quiet.

He couldn't fight them, so hiding was the only thing he could do.

A strange noise came from somewhere nearby, he heard it dragged its feet across the ground.

Then another.

He slowly turned his head, trying to peek at what’s behind the rock without exposing himself.

Nothing.

For a moment, he thought they had passed, so he rested his back on the rock, but then a shadow moved across the ground.

Yuii's eyes widened.

A Shuuki was standing there, and their eyes met each others’.

The creature tilted its head, staring directly at Yuii's body fully exposed.

“Oh, no…. Why is it happening?”

The Shuuki moved, and he immediately jumped away.

His shoes slipped against the loose rocks as he rushed forward, nearly falling several times. Behind him, the Shuukis followed with frightening speed, their movements echoing between the cliffs.

He desperately searched for somewhere to hide, a narrow crack between the rocks, a cave, a wall…… anything.

Then he saw another group coming from ahead.

Yuii stopped so suddenly that his body nearly threw itself forward, they were coming from the other side.

“Are you kidding me?!”

He turned around.

The ones behind him were getting closer.

Yuii looked left, and it was empty with no place to hide. Then on the right, there was a giant rock rising to the sky.

It was almost nine meters high, with a rough surface that looked just barely climbable.

It wasn't a good idea, yet it was the only idea.

Yuii rushed toward it and grabbed the first edge he could find.

He pulled himself upward, climbing from one hand to another, with his shoes searched desperately for something to stand on.

“Come on...”

He climbed higher.

The Shuukis gathered below, thankfully, they didn't follow up. He could hear their growl distant. Now all he had to do was get to the top, there, he could wait as long as he wanted.

“Please… somebody come and rescue me.”

Time slipped by, his fingers were already beginning to hurt, his arms trembled.

He tried to reach for another ledge, but this time, a sudden force dragged him down just a little bit, and his fingers slipped.

He grabbed it again, this time barely managing to hold himself in place. and he felt something terrifying—his leg couldn’t lift up.

Was it shuuki? Maybe a version that’s quiet and able to climb up? Or a creature that no one has witnessed and still survives?

His heart was pounding so hard that he could hear it, he knew that looking down may make him lose the nerve, but he couldn’t go any higher with that grip on his ankle. All he can do is to dare himself to look down……

Yuii found the cuff of his pants getting hooked by a sharp bulge on the wall, the only way to get away from it is climbing back down. But his stamina was too insufficient to go further.

His arms became unbearably heavy.

His breathing turned rough.

He tried to reach a rock nearby downward, but his muscles refused to cooperate, it felt like he would fall any time.

“No...”

Yuii felt his fingers slowly slipping.

His eyes moved around desperately, searching for anything that could help him.

Then he noticed something.

A peach tree.

It was growing from between the rocks, its fruit hanging just within his reach.

Yuii stared at it and remembered the stories: The food in Mato that could gain women power, this surely would never work for him, but…...

“...I don't have a choice.”

He reached out and grabbed the peach.

For a second, he hesitated.

He would still be trapped like a normal one would be.

But maybe it could give him enough energy, just enough to climb.

Yuii took a bite, the sweetness barely registered, but then, something happened inside his throat.

A strange buzzing sensation crawled upward from his chest.

He stopped chewing.

“...What?”

The sensation became stronger. His vocal cords tightened, burning with a sudden, overwhelming impulse. It wasn't an urge to scream or fight—it was an overwhelming urge to sing.

Unable to stop, Yuii’s mouth widened, he started singing.

“Just stop your crying, it’s a sign of the time……”

His voice echoed across the canyon, below him, the Shuukis froze.

Yuii noticed it immediately, and his grip finally gave out. He fell to the ground hard between them, but they didn’t react aggressively.

One of them tilted its head.

Another slowly lowered its body.

“...What the hell?” They simply watched him grunt in pain.

Yuii slowly pushed himself up, the creatures remained strangely calm behind him, he didn't question it anymore, he kept singing as he ran through the wasteland, his voice becoming increasingly unstable as his body struggled to keep moving.

“We never learn, we've been here before……”

He didn't care.

As long as they weren't chasing him, he could escape.

“We gotta get away from here…. I GOTTA GET AWAY FROM HERE!!!”

His foot suddenly caught on something, his voice stopped, and everything went black for a moment.

Yuii woke up on the floor, he didn’t smell the ozone surrounding him anymore. He heard cars rushing away, and lights posing on him. It’s the street, he’s back, and he rushed toward the nearest alleyway to hide away. He didn’t know why he did that, but even without it, he started feeling sick.

His forehead was burning, hands were trembling, and his throat still felt strange. He completely forgot the promise to buy the magazine, and just ran to the dorm.

He looked guilty, and he should be. Because something impossible happened to him tonight.

“What took him so long? And why didn’t he answer the phone?”

Inside the dorm, Edoru kept walking back and forth around the bed, he couldn’t imagine a scene worse than Yuii getting kidnapped. Takada and others have already come back and are asleep, they don’t have any clue about Yuii either.

Then he heard the doorbell ring, Yuii was standing outside with tired eyes staring at the ground.

“Yuii-san?”

Yuii looked up.

Edoru's expression changed immediately.

“You look terrible.”

“I'm fine.”

“You're obviously not fine, Yuii-san, you look perfect when you were on the phone talking to me. Friends don’t lie, especially not to me.”

“I just... got tired.”

Edoru crouched beside him and placed a hand near his forehead.

“You're burning.”

Yuii tried to move away.

Edoru stopped him.

“Where were you?”

Silence.

Yuii looked toward the floor.

“Would you believe me if I told the truth?”

“Why not? I have seen and heard so many crazier things from my master, it couldn’t be worse than I imagine.”

Edoru's voice cracked into a bitter laugh, which somehow made it worse.

“Just tell me, where did you actually go?”

Yuii swallowed.

“I...”

“Tell me.”

Yuii closed his eyes.

“...I think I went… there.”

“Where?”

Yuii hesitated.

“Mato.”

Edoru went dead silent, expression shocked. "You entered Mato?"

In a low, hesitant voice, Yuii confessed everything: being cornered by Shuukis, climbing the cliff, eating the peach, and the surreal moment he started singing to keep the monsters at bay.

When he finished, Edoru didn't speak for a while.

“You ate a peach.”

“Yeah.”

“And then you started singing.”

“Yeah.”

“And the Shuukis stopped attacking you.”

“...Yeah.”

“That’s impossible.” Edoru rubbed his face. “Men could never……”

“I know, but I can’t… think of any other possibility.”

“But… you're alive.”

“I don't know if it’s a good thing.” Yuii looked down at his hands.

Edoru crossed his arms, thinking really hard. It’s way too much information at a time. “Have the defense forces seen you in any place there?”

“For what I saw there…… no.” Yuii sighed, collapsed on the bed sheet in a tired motion. “I’ve thought of many possibilities. Goods and Bads. And in the worst case… I’m becoming a lab rat for the government.”

“Yuii-san… is that really what you think?”

“I don’t want to be a pessimist, but we’re a team, right? And this power… can’t be used to save our team from getting torn apart by them. Edoru, please, don’t let Takada-san or anyone else know this.”

Edoru hesitated. As a staff member, he carries the band from behind, from falling apart. And his golden rule is to be earnest, would keeping that secret be necessary?

Edoru glanced up, then back to Yuii’s eyes, after many turns, he finally spoke up. “Yuii-san, you should rest right now. I’ll tell Kurogawa-san that you’re taking a sick day.”

After Yuii’s asleep, Edoru sat on the floor and think for another extra minute, until he picked up the phone.

It was called directly to Takada.

“Sorry, Takada-san. I forgot to call.”

“It’s okay, is Yuii home now?”

“Yeah, he was a little sick, needed some rest.”

“Oh, did he tell you when he got sick?”

“About 20 minutes ago, after he bought the magazine and left the store.”

“Then it should be *hiccup* a cold or something, sorry.”

“It looked worse than just a cold though, Can I tell Kurogawa-san he’s taking a leave tomorrow?”

“That sounds acceptable to me, he has been working non-stop for the last three weeks.”

“Yeah, he really did.”

“Alright, good night Edoru, you’re the deliverer of our Live today.”

“You too, Takada-san. And don’t forget to take hangover medicine tomorrow.”

“Thanks a lot.”

Carrying the weight of this secret, Edoru collapsed on the bed beside Yuii.

[Bug] I'm pretty sure staff did this

Today I was trying to get new best score with lv8 spike, but I've played for 2 hours, getting at least 30 magnets ran out, and it didn't trigger 3rd ability even once. What is going on Sybo? Spike was a big loser in this perk update, he doesn't even want to run right now.

[Fanfiction] Chained Soldier: Odd One Out—Chapter 1

>Note: This story is a complete AU of the Chained Soldier, the genre is not romance, not action, and definitely not harem. The early story won't have much to do with the MDF, it would be mostly slow-burn, but I would make sure not to mistreat every canon character. I wish you could have an open mind of what would happen, if you're okay with everything above, enjoy;)

Chapter 1: Boy in a boyband

Every city has its dark side, no matter how badly you want to ignore it. This is especially true for those idols chasing their dreams in Shin-Okubo, harsh living conditions could burn you alive, leaving no space for respite.

Below the sloppy, messy taverns, the live house of Eagle Wave is preparing for their next concert, today. It's around 30 minutes before it starts, but the situation they're in almost drove their leader, Takada Renji, into the deep end.

"Yuii, where did the speaker go? We only got one."

"The speaker? It shall be there, staff should put it there for us earlier this morning."

"It's not there! Should I let you see it?"

"Calm down, Renji. Just call her and let her pick up the speaker for us." Tadashi murmured as he tested out stage lights and remixer with another staff. The light flashed a little before stabilizing down.

"Takada-san, I got this, I'm calling her," Yuii is already on his phone.

"All right, everyone, formed up for a minute."

Takada clapped his hands and everyone except Yuii came nearby.

"This is our familiar category again, no dance, just music. Do it like how we have practiced, I drum, Tadashi guitar, Hateyama keyboard, and Yuii sing. And trust me, no matter what kind of fucking encore is that old man demanding us to do, I won't accept it, maybe next week, but not today."

Hateyama was pleased by this promise. "Thank goodness. I really need some rest after last week's humiliation."

"Uh... Takada-san," Yuii put down his phone just then.

"I can't contact her."

"Seriously? Again?!"

Takada shouted in both disbelief and anger, Mizuno Misaki has been exploiting her flexible day-offs, it's the third time she ran away without giving a call this month.

"I'm afraid that she won't call back this whole day." Hatayama checked his phone while murmuring.

"Is she okay?"

Just as Yuii spoke up, Hatayama showed his screen, with an Instagram story with three girls jumping cheerfully in a crowd.

"She went to the concert, hanging out with girls like her!" Hatayama shook his head, completely disgusted by her misbehave, she doesn't even pretend to have a good reason now. Takada snapped at his temple, thinking what to do next, time is slipping by, and rushing to the headquarters certainly won’t have enough time, he needs a move that’s efficient, not-time consuming, and for free.

"I... I can go borrow one!" The staff in the backfield mutters, he was assigning the instruments for today.

"You, stay at the back," Takada answered before turning to Yuii. "Yuii, did you contact other staff?"

"Yes," he replied, already in between a call. "Sorry, I said we need a speaker, maybe a DBR12, just for two hours."

"Good, tell them to let us rent it for free today because one of them messed up with the return date."

The guy on the other side cancelled the call, and Yuii was panicked by their ghosting action. There’s one staff left he hasn't called yet, but whether he’s available remained unknown, after seconds of hesitation, he gave it a try.

“Edoru, are you still in the apartment?”

“Yeah, I’m heading to the device store now. Something’s wrong with the live?” Edoru, on the other side, was packing his duffle bag.

“One of our speakers went missing, can you rent another one for us? DBR12, for 2 hours, I’ll pay the money to you tonight, please just rent for 2 hours, we don’t have time to negotiate with employees.”

The other side fell silent, Yuii was aware and concerned, but Edoru answered sooner than he could continue.

“I’ll tell Takada that you’re paying.”

“What? Wait, not...”

The call ended.

And Edoru immediately reacted to this new assigned mission. He quickly rushed to the stairs to 7th floor, passing the quiet office area to finally reach the storage. Yuii was assigned to practice for one last time, and after time reached 2:56, Edoru appeared at the entrance of the live house.

“Takada-san, I got the things you were waiting for!” Edoru yelled as he dropped the bag onto the floor.

“Oh, great. They actually sent you here.” Takada quickly opened the bag and checked the equipment. “Is it compatible with our wires?”

“Yeah, I checked it already. Sorry, I gotta go for my PT now. See you tomorrow!”

“Wait, you’re leaving already?”

“I told them Yuii just paid for it, remember? You can ask for a refund after the show.”

Edoru waved his hand and hurried toward the exit before Yuii could say anything.

Takada stared at the speaker for a moment before letting out a sigh. “Fine. At least we have it.”

Tadashi and Hatayama gathered around to unpack the speaker and carry it over to the stand. Yuii helped them get it into position while Takada checked the connections.

Then Takada suddenly looked toward the entrance.

“Hold on.”

“What?” Tadashi asked.

Takada pointed toward the front of the live house. Through the entrance, they could already hear the voices of fans waiting outside.

“We've only got five minutes.”

“So?”

“So we don't have time for a proper sound check.” Takada looked at Yuii. “We'll do it while the audience is coming in.”

Yuii blinked. “In front of them?”

“Why not? Let them hear you sing before the show starts. We can test the speaker, and maybe they'll remember the song afterward.”

Hatayama glanced toward the entrance. “You mean a free preview?”

“Exactly. Anyway, go meet with our fans, buy us some time.”

Takada then turned to Yuii. “Come on. Get behind the microphone.”

“Uh... what am I supposed to sing?”

“Anything. Preferably one of our upcoming releases.”

Yuii hesitated for a moment, then thought of a song.

“...I know one.”

“Good. Connect the wire and get ready.”

Yuii took a breath as the sound of the crowd outside grew louder, and Yuii started singing, the melody flowed outward and filled the house.

Takada looked toward the entrance in satisfaction.

“Let them in now.”

After the concert, the whole team wait for Takada’s “pressure test” to end, Kurogawa isn’t usually talkative, but every time when he is, it feels like 1 hour.

“Hey, buddy,”
Tadashi tapped on Yuii’s shoulder.

“Hmm?”

“Good choice on the song for testing, I’m sure they all heard that.”

Yuii flushed at his compliment.

“...Thanks, Tadashi-san. Do... you think Miki would like it too?”

“No doubt.”

The door cracked open.

“What took it so long this time, boss? Was he angry about his master plan be cut off?” Hatayama asked.

Takada sighed and didn’t answer, he brushed his hair and looked away to the end of the hallway.

“Want to drink some? I suggest having dinner at Tori tonight.”

Other boys exchanged an uneasy gaze, it’s never a good sign when it comes to Tori in their career times. It’s a shelter, or a dose of anesthetic in their suppressing work condition. Tori’s seats aren’t full by the time they arrive, cooks haven’t set up fully, but the unfading odor on the bar could haunt every newcomer. That’s where they normally sit, and where they deserved.

“So? What’s the conclusion you got from him?”

Hatayama swallows a whole jar of beer without blinking, his eyes don’t leave Takada’s.

“Possibly the biggest warning we could get this year.” Takada sighed, followed with an annoyed, dry chuckle. “If we couldn’t double the viewers by the end of this month, the company will reconsider our role.”

As he paused, the whole team fell into an awkward silence, and Yuii was the most scared one upon them.

“They really mean it? To make us fall like those amateur comedians?” He choked on the soft drink, coughing the other way.

“But that’s illegal, right? They knew our contract would only take effect when we’re idols, they can’t force us into it.” Hatayama was furious.

“Renji,” Tadashi cut through. “Do you have any plans to counter that back? Maybe we should shoot more trending dance reels or on-street performances.”

Takada shook his head, trying his best to think straight under the influence. “Don’t say that, Yuii, we’re not becoming useless artists, our next release will do great.” Then he turned to Tadashi. “I don’t want to talk about the solution now, if I were, I won’t choose here, or drink.”

Then, he raised his cup up.

“Cheers everyone, for our MVP of the day, Yuii. And deliverer Edoru.”

All four raised their glass in hooray, some continued to dig in their teriyaki.

There's a TV in Tori that's always on display, it plays pop music and trending songs, mostly from girlbands, throughout the bar. Yuii usually watch it to find inspiration in music videos and interviews, neither of them drew his attention stronger than the commercial playing today.

“Your stage. Your voice. Your chance to be seen.”
Boys v. Girls: The Idol Contest is coming soon!
From rising newcomers to the biggest names in the idol industry, groups from across the world will face off in an unprecedented battle for the spotlight.
One stage. One opponent. One chance to prove yourself.
Registration is now open to all officially registered idol groups.
Think you have what it takes?
Step forward, take the stage, and show the world what you’re made of!
Boys v. Girls: The Idol Contest — Your next stage starts here.

"Do you see that, Yuii?" Tadashi leaned near him.

"I did." he said with a hint of excitement. "Do you think we stand a chance?"

"Not sure, but if we could get in, even just getting in there... would be our get out of jail free card."

Their bar session lasted for around 1 hour, Tadashi halted everyone before Takada finished his 5th cup. It went slightly dark outside, and dark always equalized with chaos. If they collapsed on the street on their way back, they might be late for hours the next day.

"Who wants a second one?"

"Not the right time, Hatayama, we're all not in that mood today." Yuii snapped his nose, despite not drinking beer at all.

"Thanks for treating us today, Renji. Now let's head back to the dorm and prepare for tomorrow."

"Copied, Tadashi-san!" Yuii answered, but then he recalled there's still something undone on his checklist. "Um... sorry, I got to go the other way, Edoru asked me to buy the latest Weekly Monodas."

"Oh, okay, be careful." Takada immediately granted.

Yuii wave goodbye before rushing toward the shop, on the way, he hosted a video call with Edoru.

“Edoru! You went back early?”

On the other side, he's reorganizing his stuff on the floor.

“Yeah, Yuii-san. Did the producer grounded you guys today? You don’t seem so depressed.”

“About my mood, that’s another story… But we did get grounded, with a quite promising warning.”

“Oh my, I won’t ask any further then.” Edoru laughed dryly, trying to hide his worries. “What’s the good news, then?”

“We just found a new event coming up, Boys v. Girls: The Idol Contest. And it’s open for every group. If we could join it, maybe our hard work would finally be seen by more people.”

“You sure it wasn’t a girlband competition show recruiting for sacrifices?” Edoru’s eyes widened in disbelief, and seconds later, a burst of laughter. “Just kidding, have you searched for their details? You know, selections and sort of stuff... and don't forget to check the upcoming programs of their hosting company.”

“Uh... They said every registered crew would be assigned to teams and compete one to one, including top-class idol squad and niche crews. I will send you the website, in case… your gut was right.”

“No problem, I’ll make sure Takada-san notice it after checking.”

They exchanged a smile, a sign of their trust and bond.

“How about you, Edoru? How’s you doing today?”

Yuii didn’t get any answer, the screen was frozen, and his signals swiftly dropped from full to empty. He blinked, completely caught up by the occurrence of the crash.

“Buddy, are you alright there……”

A flow of dusted wind blew into his mouth, and then he realized the surroundings have changed, there are nothing but rocks, cliffs, and ashes. The air was whistling, and he could only hear it whistling, as if warning him of potential danger. Yuii gazed toward the horizon, then the starless sky, the undoubtedly truth hit his head.

“Shoot.”
