In Yosuke and Seiroku's visual there are many red flowers which appear to be red spider lilies. In Japan they traditionally symbolise death and the afterlife.

In Inako and Kihachi's visual there are white pond-flowers that appear to be white lotuses. In Japan they usually symbolise purity and enlightenment.

What do you guys think?

Just a little observation

Soo.. i heard from ln readers that the anime actually made some changes from the original.. I was reading comments about it, and I saw a few people say that some of the episodes didn't quite make any sense/it didn't really have any relation to the plot etc.

For example, the liebe episode or the episode where they formed a band. Yes, I must admit, I was also confused at first. But after some time and thinking about it more (since I'm quite obsessed with this anime now)

I've realized that those kinds of episodes weren't entirely nonsense or didn't have any relation to the plot. If you were to think about it more; They actually do make sense. I've thought of it as this: Those are the things that Kihachi invented/created from the catalogue and stuff. And that means, those episodes show off what the future might look like from his point of view, it also shows the new things that could be introduced etc.

Fyi: this is actually my first time making a post like this on reddit so I'm sorry if my explanation kind of sucks or it sounds a little incomplete. I'm not that very good at words, but I do hope that you can understand what I'm trying to say though :) that's it!

Season 1, Episode 5

Just came here to yell for a second. I HATE YOSUKE! I hate him, I really do. His actions, his attitude, and his personality. I don't understand why he acts like this book belongs to him. I don't understand why he lights that stupid incense burner everywhere. I don't understand why he thinks he's entitled to so much stuff when he was treated as lesser by his own family. He has done nothing but cry and complain the entire time and act like he deserves the world. He's not a good person and I wish he would just go away. It makes the show so irritating to watch. His entire character ruins it all for me. I know shows have to have villains to carry out the plot. But his character is just genuinely too much in every regard and I just know he's gonna get some redemption arc that's gonna piss me right TF off.

Starting to like Kengo more and more (last image has spoilers)

In the latest episode he's clearly having an internal struggle with himself. Why was he trying to stop the two from going but then suddenly switched and decided to help? What does he know that he can't bring himself to tell?

He's so incredibly conflicted that I can't help but feel bad for him, it's clearly tearing him to pieces.

It's especially sympathetic because he's so direct and honest, but quite easily manipulated. He's clearly got a lot of lingering trauma from his time spent in the military (and whatever the hell went down back then).

He's also just incredibly good-natured, I love this guy. Three cheers for Kengo, I'm not seeing enough love for him on here.

Question for light novel readers

For those who have read the light novel- is the plot a little different? I heard the anime adaptation changed quite a few things

Also does it have more romance than the anime? Like as of now the relationship between kihachi and inko seems very very underdeveloped (?)to be called romance, but it has the romance genre tags so I'm just curious

I know this anime is based on novels. Could anyone spoil it to me in the DM?

For personal reasons, I won't be able to watch the coming episodes when they come out. I am, however, too interested in the plot to wait, so I'm fine with having the plot spoiled to me in my DMs.

I know this is kind of a weird post to make, but thanks in advance for everything.

I just watched episode 6 and I love the way this show sometimes chooses not to take itself seriously 😂

It feels like each episode gets a little sillier than the previous one but I’m not complaining, I think it’s a unique and funny show. I’m glad that they seem to be managing to still tell a cohesive story through all the goofy nonsense.
Love it and I can’t wait for episode 7.

That shit is PADDED! [Theory]

Ok, so hear me out...

I think Yosuke pads his backside in order to make it appear bigger than it actually is.

Seriously.

If you watch his bath scene in episode four, there's a brief moment where he moves up, and we get to see his ass, which appears to be much flatter compared to when he's wearing clothes.

I think he legit pads it in order to look more attractive/alluring. In episode one, we actually have a brief close-up of his eyes, and we see that he's wearing makeup. I think this goes to show just how obsessed he is with looking beautiful to others, especially when you compare it to his younger fit.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

This man is sick and i love (hate) him too much

He literally made a >!model of the person he's obsessed with (and implied been working on for awhile) (to feel close to him perhaps??) And literally talks to it so casually in some underground basement with said corpse!<

And is the reason this man is so obsessed with the catalog. He literally said >!"why are you testing my fate" (last episode with the love detector)!<

It's clear the brother really made a impact on younger Yosuke to the point he'll do shit like this.

>!I bet the brother's ghost is so damn disturbed by this shit with his dead body!<

She just became the best girl over every anime I've watched (~380). She just overtook Akane with this episode

Anyone else think it’s rly weird how Ainosuke Oshie (liebe guy) likes a child (Suzu)

i was trying to find anyone talking about this but didn’t find any results on Google so figured I might as well bring it up.

like what is the actual age diff between this guy and Suzu cuz it feels weird asf

(edit) just finished the episode and wtf he was planning on using the faulty love machine on suzu to make her seem To have mutual feelings for him? so mc had to step in and put the broken one on his head? Bro this liebe guy is a manipulator…

This scene has the same vibe

At this moment Two different situations are playing out, though it can't be denied that it has a bit of the same vibe.
