Direct entry to second year

Hi, I'm considering applying to Edinburgh for neuroscience, but the length of the course being 4 years is a slight issue because of the extra tuition fees and living costs. I have the grades to be considered for direct entry to year 2, but does anyone have any advice on the pros and cons? I think I would be motivated to try and keep on top of workload, but I don't want to lose out on social life or struggle more making friends if I join in year 2. If anyone has any advice on how bad the workload is (especially in relation to neuro/biomed), how hard the transition is, and social life for direct entry it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Neuroscience undergrad at Edinburgh

Hey everyone, sorry if this isn't the right area to post this but I was just wondering if any current Neuro/ Biomed students could tell me how general the course actually is up until year 3, as I've seen online that you literally don't do any Neuroscience until then which is kind of a problem for me as I don't massively want to spend an extra year on slightly irrelevant knowledge. The course is still ranked pretty high though so is it worth it, and is there opportunity to learn about Neuro topics earlier on? Thank you :)
