RAC in 2nd AC, Sealdah to Ajmer.
Paid Full Fare for 2AC, Got RAC Instead — 26 Hours of Misery from Sealdah to Ajmer
I’m honestly fed up with this kind of experience with Indian Railways.
I booked a 2nd AC ticket from Sealdah to Ajmer, paying the full fare expecting a proper, comfortable berth for a journey of around 26 hours. Instead, I was given an RAC seat, with two adults forced to share the same seat.
Just imagine paying the full price for 2AC and then having to spend such a long journey adjusting with another person on the same seat. There’s barely enough space to sit comfortably, forget about sleeping properly. The entire journey becomes exhausting, frustrating, and physically uncomfortable.
My question is simple: If I’m paying the full 2AC fare, why am I expected to go through this kind of experience?
I understand that RAC is a part of the railway reservation system, but that doesn’t make the experience any less frustrating, especially when you have to travel for 26 hours. You pay extra for a better class of travel, yet end up struggling for basic comfort.
What makes it worse is the feeling of having paid for a service but not receiving the experience you expected.
I want to know what other passengers think:
Is this kind of experience acceptable for a premium class like 2AC?
Shouldn’t there be better arrangements for passengers stuck on RAC for such long journeys?
Has anyone faced a similar situation, and were you able to get any resolution?
Indian Railways seriously needs to look at the passenger experience, not just ticket bookings and fares. Paying the full amount should at least mean that passengers can travel with reasonable comfort and dignity.
26 hours is a long time to suffer like this.
Rant over. Just needed to get this frustration out.
