Some things that don't right with me in Batman

First, about Harvey Dent. It feels weird that we visit John in Arkham, but not Harvey. We should be able to visit Harvey.

Also why can't we try to save Harvey by giving him an antidote to the nerve agent? We should be able to redeem him.

The next thing I found weird is Arkham Asylum. We're told about a state-of-the-art replacement facility for Arkham Asylum named Thomas and Martha Wayne Memorial Hospital. So I thought since a new facility is being set up to replace Arkham, and since the Asylum had been in a bad shape for a long time which only got worse after the fight with Vicki, it would make much more sense to fund the police instead. If you pick the Asylum the speech is about how you're stopping work on the Memorial Hospital and focusting on restoring Arkham, which seemed pointless. Yet, in season 2, there's no replacement of Arkham, there's not even a mention of it. Not even in the codex. They removed the mention of the Hospital in Arkham's codex.

Similiarly, funding the police does absolutely nothing other than giving you a line of dialogue with Regina.

Trying to hide your identity from Gordon seems sloppy imo.

Finally, Alfred's argument about Batman creating evil doesn't make sense, Lady Arkham and Penguin were already criminals who were driven by revenge, and though they were inspired by Batman it is a secondary factor. Harvey Dent was put under immense pressure after the CoA attacks, 2 assassination attempts, Wayne scandal etc. Though seeing Bruce with Selina was his last straw. Riddler, Harley, Bane, Freeze were all criminals anyway. You only influence John. I'd like to think it's his paranoia and desperation speaking. He's tired of seeing Bruce getting hurt again and again.

RPP and PFJP are going to split after reforms

Both of them are big tent parties set up to oppose the government's policies and advocate for democratic reforms. All of them are democrats yet their ideology differs wildly. Both parties are led by liberals yet they have a massive socialist wing that is competing for influence. Both parties act like fragile coalitions which will eventually split after reforms since they got what they wanted and now there's nothing much they can agree upon.

Let's start with the PFJP. PFJP has already split once when Denis Stahler left with a lot of socialists after the PFJP's then leader was embroiled in a sex scandal and when Alphonso started easing out on the purges of the socialists Soll carried out. Ricter and Denis were rivals for the PFJP leadership and he left to form CPS along with other PFJP socialists after losing to Ricter in party congress. Both of them still dislike each other as you can see in the Presidential debate. That alone tells you how fragile the relationship was between socialist and liberal factions of the PFJP. The party still has a big socialist wing headed by Manoly Suheil and the cracks are beginning to show, Ricter also dislikes Suheil and tries to shut her down during Victory Day meeting. Keep in mind Suheil was made the deputy only to keep the socialist wing from splitting once again. If the PFJP comes into power, it's gonna be a very fragile coalition. Obstructionism will be a bigger issue in tne PFJP than it is within the USP. If Rayne was pro free-market, Ricter will lose votes and will be under even more heat by Suheil and the socialists. USP is more united since they consist mostly of Sollists, and sollist ideology is mostly conservatism, nationalism and statism. Yet, we have seen USP almost split in half during Soll v Alphonso party congress.

RPP is just as fractured, and the issue is made worse by Manus's blunders, especially Rusty's pardon. As we can already see, RPP's socialist wing headed by Adarfo usually takes power if Romus doesn't improve the living conditions. That shows how powerful the wing is. Now once a proper constitutional monarchy is formed with the parliament in charge, the party is doomed to split. If Manus becomes PM, he immediately tries pardoning Rusty, restoring him as CEO of RRG and making him economy minister. That is practically a death wish and is bound to split the party as Adarfo and his wing will NEVER support this decision. In fact, I believe he only accomplishes this due to some RNC MPs being in Rusty's pocket as well. RPP obstructionism would be a major issue for Manus given RPP wins the 1958 elections (which they usually won't). RPP radicals will most likely also oppose Zille being added back to Brenas since they dislike house politics and can clearly see Manus proposing it since he is the heir of House Sazon. Besides, Manus dislikes the worker's rights bill and only supports it to keep face among the socialist bloc, the ones who are pushing for the bill most aggressively.

Furthermore, Manus takes a huge PR hit and loses socialist, centrist, nationalist and conservative votes with the whole Rusty pardon affair. I mean, the even the VoR writes against this and states that they Manus will lose votes since people don't want to see a Lespian spy getting freed. Daria can easily capitalize and attack Manus's policies publicly, and given how we see him chicken out under the slightest pressure, he won't be able to handle the situation. RNC has very less chances of splitting since most of them are conservatives and support free market policies since it benefits nobles. So, RNC and RPP will both offer similar economic policies and the RNC will have stability and strong unity while the RPP's unity will be very fragile. Liberal and centrist vote will also be split now since most people prefer stability if policies are similar. I'm sure nobody wants what UK is going through, with 6 PMs in 10 years. Losing elections will put Manus under even more pressure. RPP obstructionism and RNC opposition means he has no support group left. No wonder RNC wins with a landslide of votes against the RPP which has opposing ideologies. No wonder Daria's slogan of stability lures voters to their side instead of the RPP.

There you have it. Thanks for your time, have a good day!

How does the RPP even let Manus pardon Rusty?

Wouldn't the large socialist wing of the party headed by Adarfo provide major opposition? Maybe Rusty has the RNC MPs in his pocket as well? He doesn't have any money when in jail, but he may promise the MPs a lot of money once reinstated. Anyways... RPP is gonna split real bad. Manus is going to take a major PR hit with this since he loses most of the socialist, centrist and conservative voters, and Daria now gets a topic to attack Manus publicly. Given how we see him chicken out under the slightest pressure... yeah, he's done for.

A few decrees I'd like to see in Rizia

  1. Remove conscription: should give us -2 or -3 administrative balance or military expenditure cost in exchange for very low manpower per turn

  2. VAT, Tobacco Taxation, Luxury goods taxation etc.: should give us plenty of bpt per turn but your economy taxes a major hit.

  3. Nuclear power plant/CSP plant: should be kind of like the Zpana dam. Nuclear power should synergise with Romus Toras University.

  4. A high speed railway project: not necessary since we have investment in public transport with improves railway but it'd be nice

  5. Zille revitalization programme: to improve Zille's infrastructure, living conditions and economy. You also improve tourism in Zille and might even make Estela's house a memorial museum. Zille port also gets expanded to trade with Derdia and Wehlen. Gold mines reach maximum efficiency. Zille tax collection should be reduced before this decree and we would get the full potential after signing this decree + some more to RRG revenues and tourism. However you do get +1 or +2 to administrative balance.

  6. A proper tighten immigration decree. The only way to do it is to expand border guards and ban bluds and Derdians. Doesn't make much sense, we should be able to expand it for all.

  7. Equal rights for all foreigners: again, the only way to do it is to get equal rights for Wehzeks in Wehlen deal, naturalization (these two I can get behind) and all the work permits.

  8. Ban Su Omina. You can't suppress Su Omina unless you never join it, speak against them after Zille bombing and let Lucita suppress them. Why can't we ban it like in Sordland we can ban RY and YS.

That's almost all I could come up with. Please, suggest some more!

Opinion: Graf may be a faux Sollist.

She eventually seeks her own benefit over protecting Soll's legacy. Hence, she is not a true die hard sollist, only a faux one. Let me explain.

In orchestrating the Circas assassination, the biggest benefit would go to Graf, since she'd either get an emergency or get increased Interior funding. For her, the motive may not be just ideologically driven by a motive to protect Soll's constitution, but to avail more power. Her end goal is to get the Old Guard deepstate as a strong force loyal only to *her*. Hence, she loves it when you create the SSP, and is willing to throw Soll under the bus for that. She doesn't care about Soll anymore, even if we sentence him to death. With the SSP, she can rule the country from the shadows, and kill the president if he goes against her.

I don't know if others realize this, but Graf and Hawker have a rivalry going on about who controls the Old Guard. Hawker is a die-hard Sollist, and doesn't want to change the contitution. Graf on the other hand, doesn't care about the constitution. Yes, she is pissed you changed the constitution, but she can feel your support weakening amongst the conservatives. She wants to capitalize on that and give a shot at presidency. The reward is more lucrative than the risks are concerning. Its an all or nothing situation.

Back to the rivalry. She lets Hawker get killed on non-emergency runs since she doesn't need the supreme court anymore. If Hawker dies, she gets definitive control over the Old Guard. So, after letting Hawker fulfill or fail his objective (Supreme Court vote) she gets rid of him. Heron has his own feud with Hawker and wants to get his position, so both of them may collaborate together. Lucian might also join her cause to try and take down Anton if he doesn't get what he wanted ie. VP position. (It is very easy to manipulate the decisions as VP, just look at Cheney. Furthermore, he shares the same hunger for power and tyrannical views just like Graf, and given his background in espionage, he may even orchestrate Anton's assassination to become President himself, given Anton tries to stop him.)

In emergency runs, Hawker has more influence over the Old Guard. He decides the trajectory the emergency should follow. Graf sticks with him since if he was out of the picture, Anton would get the reins instead. So she follows a fine line between the Court and the Presidency. Besides, killing his dog acts like a warning that she can get Hawker too if need be.

It just shows you how fragmented the SSP and Old Guard really is. Half of them are loyal to Graf, while the other half are loyal to Karl and Anton. The Old Guard is split between pro-Graf and pro-Hawker factions, with Heron having a smaller one. It's all very convoluted, and it makes sense why the Old Guard can't capitalise on the situation on non-emergency runs. The tussle between them prevents them from uniting.

Back to the point of Soll's constitution. If she was as die-hard as Hawker was, she would restore the constitution. She doesn't. Instead, she destroys the democracy Soll built and respected (he could've set up a dictatorship multiple times with ease, but he didn't and retired peacefully) and sets up a rigged electoral college system. Soll would be shocked to see her go so far, since the emergency is still meant to be seen as a temporary measure even though Hawker keeps extending it (because he's *also* power-hungry, and considers suspending Soll's constitution as not against his legacy, since on paper you don't change it.) Constitutional changes to include electoral college are permanent features. She also advocates for centralizing Bergia and transferring Gendarmerie to Interior for more authority, even though these were systems Soll set up himself.

Is Margi (Deivid's niece) Edith Agnoc's daughter?

The codex states Edith is Deivid's adopted sister, but weirdly they don't interact much during the economy review in turn 5 (second megaproject meeting)

Why you should NEVER make Lucian the VP.

Not only does he prove that he is willing to destroy you using forged evidence if he fails to achieve his objectives (ie not being VP), he is very similar to Lileas Graf. Both are very competent at what they do, but both are very cunning and power-hungry.

Both of them try sucking up to you in order to try and get even more power, Lucian tries getting VP position while Lileas tries to get SSP. Both of them scheme against you if you don't give them what they wish, Lucian throws a tantrum and forges evidence to impeach you, while Lileas creates a deept state to sabotage you. Both of them are fine with killing people to achieve their objectives, Lileas kills Circas to force you into either increasing Interior budget or declaring emergency, while Lucian is pleased to hear Petr getting killed. No wonder Lucian sucks up to Lileas if she wins the party congress. I think both of them start working together if you don't make him VP. Both Lucian and Graf won't oppose you if they achieve their objectives, even if you go against their objectives (Graf doesn't oppose you even if you hang Soll given you formed the SSP) since they achieve the means to manipulate or get rid of you. Graf can assassinate you with the SSP should you go against her, and Lucian can manipulate you or perhaps kill you to become President himself, given his history in espionage.

The only difference is that Lucian only stops scheming you show him his place in chess and break his ego of being a great player. Power respects power. Lileas never stops scheming.

But there'a another reason why you should choose Clavin or Gloria over Lucian (I prefer Gloria, she's more idealistic, pragmatic, charismatic and almost as competent as Lucian. She also gives a huge popularity boost amongst women.)

Sure, making Lucian the VP stops him from going against you, but what prevents him from staging your assassination to become President himself? Especially given his experience in espionage. Picking him as VP is risky, and doesn't give you any tangible benefits in popularity since he doesn't have enough charisma and people gossip about him not being married yet. Also, trusting him with all matters makes it dangerous since he can expand his influence even more, influence the President's decisions and decrees to a dangerous degree and hurt the administration even more if he wants to. He's gonna be a more cunning Dick Cheney. You need someone else as VP to counter his power-hungry tendencies. You have to remember Lucian isn't even an elected politician, he never fought an election, he serves purely as a strategic advisor. Atleast Gloria and Clavin are elected, and Petr is popular. Hence, he is best kept as the strategic advisor. Also, hearing the opinions of two people is better than sticking to just one.

He'll always try manipulating you as VP to get his way if he considers you weak.

Who is the more power-hungry, bigger traitor and backstabber?

Both of them try sucking up to you in order to try and get even more power, Lucian tries getting VP position while Lileas tries to get SSP. I can't help but symphathise with Valero

Yes, he should've had abdicated in favour of Hugo or Romus. That said, he wasn't exactly a bad king as in one who is willing to kill thousands for his own profit, he was simply a weak king, unable to govern with a steadfast hand and a sharp mind. The 1926 Uprising really did a number on him and made him too paranoid to seek change. He was afraid any major change would lead to another uprising. He even kept the army small for fear of another mutiny. He also never went against the rulings of the HoD, since he believed it to be the voice of public and he didn't want to stir unrest by ignoring them. He really didn't want to lose Romus again. The trauma of the uprising left him shaken to the core and he started to become increasingly reliant on Hugo and Romus to govern the country in his later years as his health started to deteriorate due to old age. The only place he could seek solace in was religion, which ultimately resulted in his death.

He trusted very few people, except for old friends like Taddeus and Sal and family members. He loved and trusted Estela, Hugo and Romus to from the deepest corners of his heart. Imagine how heartbroken he must feel when he witnessed his own son betray him by going to Pales and being friendly towards them, the exact thing that started the chain of events that scarred him for life. For Romus to make him remember the trauma all over again, willingly or otherwise, and to go against whatever legacy he had, would really make you question where you went wrong in recognising your son. One would eventually curse himself for letting his go astray, emotionally detached from him. For him, Pales was the source for his trauma, the trigger for his problems. Watching your closest confidante embrace the source of his pain makes you question reality, and eventually, yourself. Where you went wrong. Why did your son leave you? No wonder he turned to religion even more after this as a coping method.

For one, the Pales War wasn't entirely a stupid decision. Pales was weak after the collapse of the Valgos Empire and it would've been easily annexing such a large territory. Even Morella joined the war and reclaimed their coastline. It was unfortunate Lespia joined the war in favour of Pales but it was something entirely out of his control. Considering that the war eventually grinded to a stalemate (not even a loss) Rizia did pretty well. The mutiny wasn't Valero's fault, it was Taddeus's for repeatedly ordering human wave attacks on entrenched positions. However, the spark came from the years of stagnation under Valero's reign. He had inherited a stable, prosperous, growing nation but he did nothing to keep it on track. Hence, Rizia started to stagnate in its growth.

Valero did do a lot of good things after the Uprising, back when he still had some sanity left. Striking an alliance with Rumburg, joining GRACE, forming HoD, relaxing immigration did boost Rizia's economy and set it back on track for the glory days of the Lyzian Era. However, his paranoia started to worsen and he eventually slipped back into stagnation. I suppose part of this is because of the mandragora, but I'm not sure. In fact, his decisions to join GRACE and ally Rumburg is what saved Rizia from going under.

It's hard to say what course history would have taken had the Uprising turned out differently. Valero was given a free rein by Lyza to do whatever he pleased, hence became an indulged, impulsive, spoiled son who never bothered to learn anything about governance or how to handle his problems without getting desperate or scared. He repeatedly ignored taking on administrative responsibilities. Hugo on the other hand, accompanied Lyza on diplomatic visits, learning valuable lessons in realpolitik. He spent his youth working as an ambassador to the Ariana Toras Association, while his brother spent his time getting drunk and hanging out with his friends at Iza University. He should've realised that he was not fit for ruling Rizia anymore during his last years and abdicated in favor of Romus. Atleast he would've found some peace in his last years, focusing entirely on religion and his family.

All in all, a good guy at heart, just a bit impulsive in his youth, but not fit for ruling a nation. He learnt his lessons the hard way, but by that time he was incapable of thinking properly. His story is a tragedy, and placing yourself in his shoes makes you feel bad for him. The man needed peace above everything else. Yet, part of his suffering was due to his own faults as well.

Can someone calculate the size of Ship, sub, fighter and bomber unit in Rizia campaign?

Dorn already managed to calculate the army (great job man) however I wanted to know the size of 1 ship/sub unit to compare the navy sizes of Pales and Rizia with that of other countries. Getting to know the size of Air units is even better, we can compare it to Sordland.

Why doesn't the Pales army integrate into Rizia upon peaceful unification?

You also don't get any tax collection upon centralizing (constitutional monarchy route), nor do you get a negative ept modifier since Pales doesn't have energy independence, it has to import energy. Another thing, when uniting with Pales peacefully, ths codex states Fort Ales becomes the capital, even though Pales city should be the capital....

With Pales army integration, we may get upwards of 200,000 military personnel integrated into the army, so if you already have overwhelming power projection the army size may very well rival Lespia's base 600,000 strong army (they have 200,000 more Arcasian troops, hence the 800,000 figure). Furthermore, we get access to Lespian and Arcasian military technology which we can reverse engineer. The united navies can very well number a navy equivalent to Agnolia or Rumburg imo. In any case, it will have similar numbers to the ATO+Lespia combined fleet in Falenco. The only branch we can't compete in is Air power.

Rizia easily becomes one of the top 10 economies, it may even become the 7th largest economy, only behind Valgsland. Sordland may end up being the 8th, but I doubt Sordland can overtake Rizia.

Genuine doubt: why doesn't the ACP arrest Kibener and Holstron as well for Circas assassination if you focused on Old Guard?

Feels a bit absurd that the ACP arrests them separately depending on the focus. Like, focusing on opposition gets them, but focusing on Old Guard doesn't? Graf, Hawker, Kibener and Holstron planned the assassination together. Yet, only half of them get arrested in a run. Why?

The way Lespia gets cucked in Rizia campaign is downright hilarious

  1. They lose the rights to Aureus Gas field to Rizia just because they try to bully Axel into submission instead of pursuing diplomacy.

  2. They have such a careless and uncompromising attitude towards the MITZ issue that it pisses off the other members who collaborate together and cut a backdoor deal to kick Lespia out of MITZ. Their hostile and rude attitude towards their neighbours results in them losing their most stable and plentiful supply of gold.

  3. They try to distract Rizia from the Aureus matter by doing a terror attack in Zille to sow discord between Rizia and Wehlen, which only results in them signing a more favourable trade agreement and expose Lespia once they uncover the evidence.

  4. They bully their only ally in their region so badly that it unites with their former enemy they went to war with 3 decades ago. When they stage the border incident, Rizia can easily convince Axel that Lespia did it since no one trusts Lespia.

  5. They try to sabotage Rizian energy infrastructure out of pure spite after getting cucked so hard just for their biggest spymaster to get arrested and other smaller spies being ratted out as well. They lose whatever influence they had over the biggest gold mining and refining company of the world since Rizia nationalizes it. In trying to harm Rizia, they get cucked even harder lmao.

  6. Their uncompromising stance leads to an indecisive Sordland making deals with Valgsland, Lespia's sworn enemy.

  7. All of their immediate neighbours form a separate alliance. 2 of these immediate neighbours acquire a military strength comparable to Lespia itself.

No wonder Alvarez's drinking problem worsens throughout Rizia campaign.

For those who want to make Galmland join ATO, I don't think that's possible.

First, the political opposition would force you to back down like Keld, there might not be any popular support for your actions and if things get out of hand the army may coup you. You may even get assassinated by UC. The CSP will definitely not want Galmland becoming liberal and will immediately invade it. Valgsland will get the green light to blockade Galmland and land troops, with UC following closely after. Despite everyone thinking ATO will try to save them, no they won't, Arcasia wouldn't want to risk going to war over CSP internal affairs and especially because Galmland is highly unlikely to have popular support for ATO influence. NATO didn't risk confronting the Warsaw Pact over the Prague Spring or the Hungarian Uprising. The best you'll get is some weapons, and even those shipments can be blockaded by a joint Valgo-Contanan fleet. Besides, an ATO application would simply br put on hold by Arcasia.
