shortening the decay of already recorded sounds

greetings, im here with my laptop and Behringer Edge which is a brutal son of a bitch 😄, having recorded a full bassline with it, I wish to shorten the decay of some "shots" only then back to normal with automation.

For some reasons i'm failing at it with Ableton's own Gate, the FLOOR knob seems to be the culprit, or it doesn't gate or it's gating way to much excluding some minor shots.

the funny thing is that with the same gate plugin on hihats i can do exactly the shortening I want

Model:samples+ Behringer Edge sync problems

Greetings, i have just added the Edge to my live setup,

it's synced via MIDI from the elektron midi out, from time to time the 1/16th grid goes off

forcing me to stop and start the elektron sequencer again,

no change if i set the elektron as slave master clock. no change if i master clock from my ipad with <koala to the elektron and to the behringer.

the audio/midi interface for koala is a Zoom U24 if it helps, no other equipment connected.

I tryied to sync the Behringer edge via usb midi but the problem persists the same

thanksss

how many of us have CDJS in their studio?

Greetings, coming from a festival gig where Ableton on my macbook pro gave the fuck up just before the gig and I had to built a 3 hours set 100% improvisation.

that leaves me thinking back a lot, also in the same occasion I have witnessed serious Djs building tracks on the fly with 3 players and a MASSIVE use of looping.

WOuld love to get a bit skilled on these instruments myself too, but facing the economic gap

between me and € 3K for a state of the art Pioneer console,

let me hear your experiences with CDJs (and computerless controllers) in the studio

before i get into debt :D

SLugs chewed my little plants, have to start from seed again, what's the best way to indoor germinate autoflower seeds?

greetings, I had these little plants (2 leaves each) sowed in soil that got chewed off by slugs despite the netting i had put in place which fell off.

I don't have proper lighting to do indoor growing at the moment. I only have three CLFs and a mini seed tray (the root-it regular one for clones).

What are my options at this time of the year? can I germinate outdoor directly with a half plastic water bottle on top of the seedling spot ?

or

better to have little pots and put these 3 CFL at 10cm or so in my room until they develop the first proper pair of leaves?

Idea about DIY honey dehumidifier, looking for feedback

greetings good people, i have a batch of already extracted brumble honey wich is about 22%humidity, very liquid. I'm seeing lots of "discs" dehumidifiers for honey but the prices are too much steep for a non-regular use (for me).

I have a motorized honey spinner with a good controller that could spin as low as 20RPM, the idea i came up with is substantially simple,

hook some vertical iron bars to the existing inner structure cage and let it spin slowly for half a day in my sun-exposed garage with good ventilation.

before building such contraption i would appreciate some feedback

Serious amount of dead drones outside, poor boys :(

greetings, last year I placed 3 foundation-less frames (only wood and wire) in all my hives to improve the possibility of my 2026 virgins mating with my favourite hives drones.

The result were stunning and the new queens lays a lot and the brood pattern is solid. The hives have so much live drones inside that the lateral frames are covered in almost all males.

Now in late May it's a cannibal massacre,

each day a fistful of drones are being killed-ejected and left to die on the ground,

is very pity to see that especially knowing I somehow caused it.

My intention is to dismiss those frames and replace them with regular wax foundation.

I thought natural build of the frames was better for me and my bees but I was wrong apparently

I do not know exactly what im doing, looking for opinions about the sound

I'm trying to recreate or create from scratch the catchy atmospheres I love and recently added such Elektron Model Samples groovebox,

I just love the way it sequences sounds, but sometimes I haave to make resonate the built-in filters on Kick and Bass channels to make them stand out for good,

and sometimes feels a bit too much subs,

yet without the filters it won't slap like properly.

model samples. Select a track whitout having it play a note

greetings, i've recently purchased a model:samples, super satisfaction so far, although I can't get if there are other ways to select a track rather than pressing T1 T2 ECC.

If i engage a track while the sequencer is playing it brieflyy emits the note which has been set in the pad menu which is sometimes annoying because its 99% out of time

thankss

Greetings good people, this is getting difficult even if apparently is a easy task:

the whole liveset takes an enormous 32gb, decided to use only some parts of it.

it's all cues in separate tracks loaded by the scenes with the correct bpm.

the source files are UNFORTUNATELY named T01-A000 and so forth (they were exports from korg electribe wave)

All the tracks go to the same 8 tracks busses where i have my controller mapped

I wish to reduce the size down to what is actually used, by going into the "samples->imported " folder i simply have a massive list of tracks with the same names with no indication if this tracks was one of the cue i decicded to keep

hive

Helloo

One week ago I did this monster for the 1st time ever, in this hive two swarming cells with eggs were found.

All brood frames went to the upper story separated by two supers, one week later

-to my surprise they didn't built a single supercedure cell in the upper story

-they built wax very quickly downstairs, and also upstairs, i left a mere space on the side and they just built a new comb from the top down.

-the upper frames were only partially filled with nectar, contrary to what i was wondering before

-the unpainted super partially collapsed on one corner, probably due to the excessive weight on top combined with my low quality woodwork, the bees are now using this corner as a upper entrance, left if like this.

-the honey import is proceeding like there was no swarm control (unlike artificial swarm)

-I had not filled all the lower chamber with foundations because i didnt have enough (like always LOL) and I had 3 poly and wood dividers with seven already built frames.

-The queen down is laying but not so much as I expected, also there was less bees than usual with stores and eggs-only brood.

the non - beekeeping product

the beekeeping type product.

Gretting good people, my wish is to have 50 brood frames surviving until mid-july in storage.

(I have no space for a chest freezer unfortunately)

The beekeping kind of Bacillus thuringiensis is insanely expensive and it's said to be a OIL SUSPENSION, to be diluted 1:9 into water and spayed on frames.

ON the other hand we have this Xentari, 10 times cheaper, WG granules to be diluted in water.

I'm wondering if (like any other product from Alveis,or like Apibioxal) is just absurdly overpriced because is targeted to beekeepers and I can get away 10 times cheaper,

those frames will stay in storage until July, not immediately back on the hives
