Forgot to hand over a drink as part of an order earlier, is it going to put my account at risk?

First time it's happened to me, I delivered to a customer earlier and it was a bit of an awkward drop off as the door was obstructed and they'd only opened it ajar slightly and stuck a hand out so I fumbled to quickly grab the food to hand over, didn't think anything of it until a few hours later when I realised there was still a bottle of drink in my bag (in a smaller bag within my main bag that I use to separate cold drinks from hot food, hadn't noticed it was still there as all my orders after were just food so I hadn't gone into the small bag). I realised which order it was from and went back to the restaurant to let them know what had happened, and remembered which address it was so I did go back and drop it off to the customer and apologise, but this was probably about 3 hours after the initial delivery. The customer understandably didn't seem too thrilled with me but did seem ok overall, so as far as I'm concerned I did all I could there.

But given the delay in me realising and sorting it all I'm assuming there's a good chance it was probably reported to Uber as a missing item or that I'd nicked the drink, if that's happened then what happens to my account? I didn't ask the customer if they'd reported it and I didn't ask if I could take a photo to prove I'd come back incase I needed it, that felt like it might be a bit weird considering it was my mistake. I did take a photo of the door with the drink in front before I knocked, but that doesn't really prove anything as I could have still not left it. All through this I did try to contact Uber support but couldn't find any option, it seems the chat option is only there when you're on a job and only for help with that job. If I go to help in the app there wasn't any option to contact support, only a load of options to topics which weren't the issue, the nearest I found was "I've found a missing item", but when I selected that it seemed to think I was a customer who had found an item a rider left behind, it's like the help options in the app don't realise I'm the rider!

Don't know if I'm over thinking this and panicking about it too much, but I'm a bit worried what happens now as I don't want a ban or suspension over a bottle of water. Has anyone else had this sort of thing happen and knows what happens next or what else I can do?

Any good alternatives to Uniqlo's DRY-EX UV Protection Full-Zip Hoodie and Geared Trousers? (UK)

I have one of the Dry-Ex UV protection hoodies and love how light and breathable it still is, but pretty much all colours have been out of stock for over 2 months now, does anyone know of any good alternatives from anywhere else? Same with the Geared water resistant trousers, they're great but no longer on Uniqlo's site they only do the Geared shorts.

Newbie pump / pressure guage, and tyre questions

I got a used bike recently and today picked up this pump from Decathlon thinking I could just connect it and the pressure gauge would give me the PSI or Bar reading of the tyre so I'd know if it needed a top up, but trying it today the gauge only seems to move when you pump it, it just shoots up and back down again with each pump but never actually gives a reading. As far as I can tell it seems to connect securely to the valve (in fact on the rear tyre when I undid it it took the sodding valve with it deflating the whole tyre! I screwed the valve back in and inflated it till I was firm again, but the gauge still didn't give me a reading so I've just had to pump till it felt firm, which sort of defeats the point of having a gauge!). When disconnecting it from the rear tyre I can briefly hear a little pssh of air like you get on a car tyre pump, but disconnecting from the front tyre I didn't hear anything.

Have I just messed up and misunderstood what the built in pressure gauge on this model of pump is supposed to do, in that it's a type not meant to show the current pressure of the tyre? Doing some silly rookie mistake? Or is this pointing to some issue with my tyres or valves which is why the pump isn't showing me the pressure? (In terms of the tyres for now I've had the bike about 4-5 weeks and just done a hand test before each ride they've felt firm and not like they've lost any significant amount of air over that time)

Any advice would be helpful.

Can/do you get anything for time wasted going to glitched/ghost orders?

Not sure if that's the term for them, but if you go to a pickup and the restaurant/supermarket tells you they never got the order so won't be doing it, then can you ever get anything back from Uber for the wasted time going there? Or do they not do anything as it's a restaurant/supermarket issue?

I had four today, two from two different Subways, one from Tesco, and one from Burger King. At the Subways they both stuck to that no such order had come through their end, Tesco's and Burger King said the same but also told me several riders/drivers had been coming trying to collect the orders which didn't exist. I told each of them they should let Uber know so more riders/drivers don't come but none of them were interested beyond saying they didn't have the order. As it was coming up to the lunch rush I didn't have time to stand there contacting support and just had to cancel my end so I could move on, but if you do take the time do they ever compensate you for wasted time in these situations? And is it worth the time it takes if they do?

Bank holiday weekend + heatwave, usually worth it or do people tend to not order much?

It looks like for this bank holding weekend where I am it's meant to be lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 30s, was just hoping I could draw on your collective experiences if that combination is usually worthwhile and lucrative or if people tend to be out, going to seaside towns, away etc rather than ordering.

Tesco not showing item lists of what an order contains when you get the job, is that normal?

I'm still quite new and getting used to things so not sure if this is a normal Tesco thing or not, but I've noticed when I take a Tesco job and try to see what's in it incase it's lots of heavy drinks etc, it's only listing it as "1 item" or "2 items" just based on how many bags there are for it (which even then is wrong as I've had 2 big bags listed as "1 item"). When I get resturant or other supermarket ones I can always see the full list of items, I'm struggling to understand why/how Tesco are so special they don't have to do this.

Hi all,

I've been thinking of getting a chain lock for a bit more flexability what I can lock to when out, but I'm a bit puzzled why locks of the same rating vary so much in price. For example searching for gold rated chains, an Oxford Chain 10 or Burg Watcher 701253 1m chain lock comes up around £25-29, but then the Kryptonite Kryptolok 1m is £39, I get a part might be paying for a brand name? But even within Kryptonite the Evolution of the same length and same gold rating comes out about £59-£69, so what's the difference between those two? Surely if they are all gold rated that means they are all just as good? The cheaper Oxford I think says it's 10mm and the Kryptolok is 9.5mm, doesn't that make the cheaper one in theory slightly better? Or am I missing something else?

I know ultimately a commited theif with the right tools could get through any of them given the chance, but if an Kryptonite is worth the extra then I'm happy to go for it, but if the cheaper ones of the same rating will do the same then I don't see the point.

Thanks in advance

Hi all,

Just finished my first shift, I thought I'd do a day shift to start with to get used to the app and orders etc, I knew it would be quieter than peak dinner hours, but I didn't think it would be that quiet! I went out 11am to just before 4pm. In total I took all the exclusive orders that I was offered, 5 at about £3 each, 1 extra one I cancelled because when at the resturant just before picking up the customer called asking me to deliver to a different town ~20 miles away! (sod that on a pushbike for £3 when it was meant to be 1 mile away! Thank god I hadn't collected it at that point!), and 2 match orders I rejected because they were not worth it (£4 about 3 miles out of the centre in hilly areas). So £15.94 total, and it cost me £11.40 to get in on the train lol (I'd prefer to do local to avoid the train cost but I'm in a rural area with many hills which with my current fitness on a pushbike isn't doable for me, so I figured the nearest city made more sense for more orders).

I wasn't expecting to get rich doing this, but I was thinking I'd have been able to at least bank £30 over a day shift like that, I thought averaging £6 per hour would be doable in a city during the day (though as the app estimated 15 mins (took me 20 mins for most with pickup times) for most £3 jobs I've no idea how hitting min wage hourly would be possible). Still, I'll give it a go a bit more as I'm doing it to also lose weight, 110kg atm so really hoping on a pushbike doing this I should at least get fitter.

Just a couple of quick questions; what do you all do during long quiet downtime between jobs coming in? I based myself in the centre around the red hot zones, but some of the waiting was mind numbing even with checking news and stuff on my phone. Second question, one place I picked up from was just a window on the outside, it had a Deliveroo sticker on it "Riders check-in here" with an NFC thing to tap, but no bell, buzzer or anything to tap for Uber Eats and no staff visible. I just got lucky that after a few minutes waiting a rider came to pick up a Deliveroo order and tapped the NFC which made a member of staff appear, is there a thing in the Uber Eats app I'm supposed to press at windows like that to alert them I'm there?

Thanks for reading my ramble of my first experience, hope you're all doing much better that than shift!
