Has anyone been less busy since the verify your bag prompt?

I don't know if I'm being paranoid or impatient, but the day after I was informed that my 40L insulated bag wasn't correct, I've been sat here for 40 minutes with no trips, despite living in a hotspot with several supermarkets and fast food places in walking distance and other places a few minutes' drive away.

Has anyone noticed a change?

Never once not completed an order

Received this email today regarding someone not getting part of there order and after checking I only did supermarket deliveries that day which are all sealed there’s no way of me seeing inside the order to see if something is missing has anyone experienced this before done 10000 orders and not once has this happened

Can it really be that I'm Wojak?

I saw the memes on YouTube long before I became a driver for Uber and I realise now they were parallels to real life. I decided to watch a few in the last couple of days and clearly it's a well trodden path. Multiple jobs, orders stolen, the 'gig economy'.

It's a very strange work environment. You've got to laugh, even Stalin liked a joke. He'd probably liquidate a town over a poor sat-nav position.

I turned up at KFC the other day and another driver had taken £60 worth of food. Does anyone try to find the culprit? It's like Blade Runner, Idiocracy, and Wojak blended into one.

My first Uber Eats delivery shift back – using a Lime bike in London

I’ve recently got back into delivery work after being away from it for quite a while, so I decided to record my first shift back.

For this one I had Uber Eats and Deliveroo running while riding around London on a Lime bike.

It was interesting getting used to the apps and delivery work again, and I definitely made a few mistakes along the way — particularly with the Lime zones 😂

I’ve put the day together into a video here if anyone wants to have a look:

https://youtu.be/srhAqoQYgCk

I’m also planning a six-hour Uber Eats-only shift in Wood Green, where I’ll track the orders, earnings, miles and how much waiting around there actually is without another app running alongside it.

For those of you doing Uber Eats in the UK regularly, do you tend to multi-app or stick with Uber on its own?

UberEats UK acts like a scam company but thanks to UK laws they must refund you if your order is missing

I recently had a classic frustrating experience with Uber Eats.

I ordered food, paid for it, but it never arrived. I was home the whole time, checked the building doors, and didn't get a single phone call or message from the driver.

To make matters worse, the app showed the order as "complete," and the support chat loop kept stonewalling me, repeating the same automated message claiming the driver "attempted to contact me" and left it in a "secure location" per their policy.

They outright refused to help or give me a refund.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (specifically regarding online purchases and risk remaining with the seller until physical possession), delivery companies can't just wave away missing food by claiming a vague "secure location" drop-off when it never actually reached the customer.

I pasted the relevant UK consumer protection laws right back into the support chat.
The change was instant. No more automated loops or canned responses—they processed the full refund immediately.

If you're ever stuck in the same loop with a delivery app in the UK, don't let them hide behind their internal "policies." Cite the Consumer Rights Act, and hold your ground!

Bag Rejection

Any idea on what I can do? My bag clearly meets the requirements but keeps getting rejected. I even added a tape measure to show it meets requirements 🤷🏽‍♂️

Am I wasting time taking McDonald's orders?

The only business to make me wait so far, and it's horrendous. I get the fare, but almost always end up waiting for at least 15-20 minutes. The orders are flagged as not ready, but I don't know exactly how that benefits me if I'm just sat here when I could be doing other drops.

If it matters, I'm a driver and this has been consistent across several McDo branches.

This seems ok - day 2

Hi,

Signed up for UberEats to have an option either on days when Flex isn't available or in the way back from high mileage Flex Jobs.

So, yesterday I did an hour or so and got a few jobs in a market town in Oxfordshire - spotted a £3 tip on a Waitrose delivery.

Today, I had a 5 hour gap between Flex jobs so thought I'd stay in town and see what was available rather than going home to bed!! Didn't work for the whole 5 hours but picked up over 10 jobs and another £4 tip.

I mainly turned down the high mileage ones because of the return journey (I'm using a car) and just stayed around town but, even with the 3.50 - 4.50 jobs, it seemed ok. Only did about 44 miles all told.

So, is this normal or are there less drivers around at the moment because of the heat? Also, am I being offered more jobs than normal because I'm new?

Uber courier and uber driver at the same time.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently registered with Uber in the UK as an Uber Eats courier, and I now want to sign up for Uber Driver/Rides to carry passengers.

I tried adding Rides through my existing account, but the onboarding process keeps asking me for a VAT Certificate, even though I’m not VAT registered and my Uber tax profile correctly shows that my turnover is below the VAT registration threshold.

I contacted Uber Support and they told me I need to create a completely new account using a different email address and phone number for Rides.

Has anyone here been in the same situation — started as an Uber Eats courier and later signed up for Uber Rides? Did you create a separate account, or were you able to add Rides to your existing courier account?

I’m in London, UK, so UK/London experiences would be especially helpful.

Thanks!
