The worst part

Imagine this. You’re watching the football game with your buds. Wings, ranch, celery, pizza + loads of snacks. Everyone’s havin a brewski and a good time

But you can’t. Not even 1-2 budlight cans. It just sucks - how do you over come this?

Advice - fashion company

Hi - I’m an entrepreneur with an innovation concept for the fashion industry and artificial intelligence. I’m looking for software developers to join a startup which combines artificial intelligence to analyse customer trends and preferences - fashion style, colours, seasonal changes in order to make new designs. We can then use the software to develop these new designs based entirely on demand - and sell the designs to major fashion companies (Zara, H&M, etc)

Looking for any advice , and potentially investors to join

Is it possible to open a restaurant with no experience?

Went to Armenia on holiday the other week - really loved the food. I don’t see many Armenian restaurants in the local area , so I’m thinking of opening a restaurant an introducing new flavours to the town!

Never worked in a restaurant before, but have dined in lots of nice places (Michelin stars etc.)

Any advice?

Dodgy aesthetic practitioners

In this day and age, many clinicians (doctors, nurses, HCAs, porters , cleaners) are doing aesthetic work , for a bit of extra cash. All good. However I do find it funny when they don’t even try to look reputable/respectable.

I know one GP trainee who just drives to people’s homes and gives Botox injections (wtf) and takes cash in hand

Or random nurses who will just open up an aesthetic clinic in their living room

Don’t get me started on the social media ads that these lot do

You should seek out both sides before forming an opinion.

This is possibly the most unpopular opinion that has ever been posted on this sub. Im ready for all the downvotes. Please dont feel offended for me saying this, it's not a personal attack...

I think its a good idea to seek out both sides of an argument when you form an opinion on something eg. world politics, economics, philosophy

For example. lets say you want to form an opinion on the israel-palestine conflict

It might possibly prudent and... dare I say... a good idea , to do research on both pro-palestinian and pro-israeli sources (check that they're reputable).

Your kids shouldnt have to work for money

My son is 18 years old and is planning on going to medical school. Me and my wife are both doctors so he's basically just followed our footsteps (we've not put any pressure).

We've only ever made him work the occasional month or so in a restaurant (dishwasher, waiter etc.) just so that he doesnt become spoilt and to teach him to be respectful to service workers - other than that he just studies and works on his academic portfolio/career .

working a job when you're young, for money, is extremely pointless . your kids should be doing everything they can to get ahead for their long term careers (networking, getting top grades, doing relevant work experience in the industry)

when he gets to medical school , we're gonna pay off his rent and give him allowance money so he can grind for the next few years without worrying about other stuff.

the renters rights act was made for the benefit of big banks

I can totally get behind tenant rights and improved regulations which improve quality of life for those seeking to rent in the UK.

however, the vast majority of the public seem to be unaware that this legislation will shift ownership of property in the UK from small landlords to large companies (Lloyds Bank, blackrock etc.) over the coming years, which will ultimately lead to zero home ownership in the future if these companies get their way.

small landlords = selling

big banks = buying

The vast majority of athletes within Calisthenics have good muscular propensity but lack functionality and control.

Far too much tightness + imbalances in many muscular compartments - which then lead to poor alignment in many ranges of movement.

I’d recommend Iyengar yoga teacher to fix these problems… go to class for 6-8 months and it will change your movement patterns forever.

the other week, i was walking out of sainsburys, and this guy just came up to me and introduce himself. he was super friendly and seemed chill - we started talking about uni life and sports etc. and then we basically agreed to hang out at some point and exchanged social media + whatsapp

then a few weeks passed and he randomly just called me and we had 1 hour phone call where he gave his testimonial on christianity and jesus and how it changed his life and then he kept pushing me to go this church group whenever i had time

i finally went , and it was a weird vibe. i remember seeing this guy walking round guilt-tripping people into why they arent donating money to the church... he actually accused someone of not donating but it turned out that they had, which was ridiculously awkward to watch

So I was walking along the street during a trip around london, and saw this walkboard sign to get a free personality test from this random building and it turned out to be the scientology building in London!

I did the test and the results were interesting, but everyone seemed super nice and welcoming - and i am genuinely curious about dianetics - can i get some advice from this sub? is it actually a cult?
