Requesting advice from female firefighters

Im about to start my long journey into EMS and then eventually Fire in SoCal, but I’m a 26 year old woman who feels that my biological clock is ticking.

I’m married and we do want kids, so I’m hoping to hear from any women in Fire who started their journey getting ready/hired around the same time they wanted to get pregnant, or soon after giving birth. What kind of limitations did you find? What worked best for you that you’d recommend to another aspiring firefighter?

Dude I wanna stop taking these pills I can’t do it anymore

I feel so horrible all day, I can barely eat, I’m so tired and worn down emotionally. I cry most nights and to think I have 6 days left….surely there must be another way. My h pylori symptoms were nothing compared to what these meds are doing to me.

I need support or permission to stop or something. I can’t take it anymore I feel like I’m going crazy.

Edit: thank you everyone for your kind words and sharing your stories. I will start drinking Gatorade and push through.

Edit #2: I spoke too soon. I feel worse now than I did before, I don’t think I can put anything in my mouth at all, I have one last dose on day 9. I can’t do it. I’m too nauseous.

I started Reta on 2mg and I’ve been on 4mg for two weeks. I have overall lost maybe 1-2lbs. I do have side effects, but I can manage.

My eating has been cut in half, but I’m not really doing much because I’m job searching and don’t have a car or any money. I do take walks.

I was on tirzepatide about 6 months ago and lost 20lbs in 3 months. I maintained the loss but now on Reta nothing is happening.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I’m 5’9 and 155lbs if that means anything
