Finally added my first ever Montale to the collection!

Fun fact: When I unboxed it, I was genuinely shocked by how light the bottle felt. 😅 Even though I'd heard a few times about Montale's lightweight bottles and how they often make people question the fill level, it still caught me off guard.

It honestly felt so light that even one of my empty 10ml decant bottles weighs more! 😂 I ended up putting it on the scale just for peace of mind, and seeing 127g gave me some relief.

For anyone new to Montale, this is completely normal. Their bottles are made from aluminum, which makes them incredibly lightweight. In fact, some perfume caps alone weigh more than an entire Montale bottle!

Current setup:

I’m facing a charging issue that started 2 days ago after changing some inverter settings. Current settings in the pictures

Issue:

At around 11:30AM my load was ~1.36KW (before turning off AC it was ~2.5KW). Solar was producing enough power, but battery was not charging at all.

It’s not a solar generation limitation because if I increase load, inverter increases solar production accordingly, but battery still barely charges.

When I disconnect the grid completely, battery starts charging, but still not at full available surplus. Example:

* Load = 2KW

* Solar generation potential = ~4.5KW

* Battery charging only around 500W–1200W instead of utilizing remaining power.

Even now at 3:30PM with battery at 95%, grid disconnected, charging remains around 300W only.

Settings I changed 2 days ago (before issue started):

* Max Sell Power: 5000

* Zero-export Power: 020

* Grid Peak Shaving: Enabled

* Disable Float Charge: Disabled/Unchecked

* Max A Discharge: 50A

Why I changed them:

Previously I used to keep the grid OFF during daytime because inverter was unnecessarily consuming (sometimes even up to 650W, which I witnessed) from grid even when solar + battery were enough.

Another issue I had before these changes:

If grid was OFF during daytime and I turned ON appliances like:

* Non-inverter refrigerator (~230W)

* Centrifugal water pump (~750W)

the inverter would trip even with:

* Battery around 80%

* Solar producing ~3.8KW (including charging + load)

So I thought keeping grid ON would help support sudden startup loads while preventing unnecessary grid usage.

Now another problem appeared:

Time-of-Use settings no longer behave correctly. I have configured battery usage from 11PM until battery reaches 30%, but inverter keeps consuming from grid unless I manually disconnect grid supply.

Would appreciate guidance on:

1. Correct Nitrox settings for zero/minimal grid usage without net metering

2. Why battery charging is being limited

3. Why TOU settings stopped working properly

4. How to prevent inverter trips on sudden inductive loads

Out of the bunch, Liquid Brun stood out the most for me, while Oud Al Layl Midnight didn’t really click.

From the newer trials/decants, Town & Country was the highlight, and Ornate Moon fell a bit short for my taste. Azrak, Dasman and Radical Rose are still left to try.

Still waiting on the Moon Collection and Leather House to arrive. Looking forward to trying Half Moon and Vicuna Leather. Heard good things about them from people with a similar taste.

Curious to know if there is a better budget alternative to LV Symphony than this?

Trying to combat the suffocating heat today with this one.

Brought it out after 4 months of maceration since I got this. Earlier it felt like it was missing that mossy depth, but now it’s come forward nicely and actually adds a bit of relief in this heat.

Still exploring it, but this one feels much more complete now. What are some other options you’d reach for in extreme hot weather?
