I’m 18 and started investing a few months ago. I’m still pretty new to this, and I’m wondering if I should add some safer mutual funds or other investments to help reduce the ups and downs in my portfolio.
I’m open to any suggestions, advice, or feedback on my current setup.

18M and heading into the military in a couple months. Looking for any advice on my current setup.

Right now for both Roth IRA and Brokerage I’m mostly investing in ETFs like VOO, VTI, and VXUS. I’m putting $75/month into my Roth IRA, planning to bump that up to $150 once my military pay starts. I’ve also got a $1,000 lump sum from an old 401(k).

For my brokerage, I’m thinking around $300/month but still deciding. The rest of my money is going into a HYSA.

My goal is to max out my Roth IRA by the end of the year.

Any suggestions or things I should be doing differently?
