For those who have gone from a regional to a legacy carrier, how long did you typically wait before applying? I’m primarily interested in United or American. I know the hiring process involves assessments, interviews, etc., but I’m mainly curious about the experience requirement. How many months/years of dispatch experience did you have when you successfully applied to a legacy?

How easy is it to get involved in the community and make friends there? I’m in my mid-20s and a little nervous about building a new friend group. Is it harder if you’re non-LDS, or is it pretty easy to meet people regardless?
I’m not really big on the party scene, but I do like going out every now and then. What’s the nightlife like, especially with the college in town? What do people typically do other than outdoor activities?

I’m definitely nervous going into it, and I had a question about NOTAMs. If I bring up a NOTAM to the DPE/DADE because I’m unsure about it, but it turns out it doesn’t actually affect the legality of the flight or isn’t something I necessarily needed to focus on, would that hurt my score at all? Or would they typically just clarify that it doesn’t impact the flight?
Some NOTAMs can be a little confusing, and honestly I’m more worried about missing something important than overanalyzing one and asking for clarification. Just curious how examiners usually look at that.
