Best fields/industries to target after an MSc in Quantitative Finance in Italy?

Hi everyone,

I'll be starting an MSc in Quantitative Finance at the University of Bologna, and I'm trying to figure out which career paths would give me the best chances of finding a job after graduation, either in Italy or elsewhere in the EU.

A bit about my profile:

Non-EU citizen

Fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish

Willing to relocate anywhere in Italy or the EU

I'm not really targeting investment banking or front-office quant roles, since they seem extremely competitive. Instead, I'm looking for fields where the demand is stronger and the chances of landing a job are more realistic.

Some areas I'm considering are:

Risk management (market, credit, operational)

Insurance/actuarial

Consulting

Energy & commodities

Fintech

Data science/analytics

From your experience:

Which industries currently have the strongest demand?

Which ones are the most realistic for a non-EU graduate?

Are there any sectors that are particularly difficult to break into?

What skills, internships, or certifications would you prioritize during the master's to maximize employability?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!

Countries not allowed to critize Argentina because of racism

During and after the world cup there has been a wave of criticism towards Argentina on the basis that they are a racist country. While this claims are valid and there are real issues regarding racism in Argentina, I think the holders of the folllowing nationalities shold not be allowed to critize Argentina because historically and presently the following countries cause far more damage to the lives of African people and their diaspora.

In no particular order except the first 3:

  1. France: put aside their huge history of colonialism in Africa for a sec. Lets focus on that right now they are the biggest neocolonial power basically owning their ex colonies economies, and stoping their development. The country responsible that millions of africans keep living in extreme poverty and violence. I dont care if their team is inclusive or not, look at their government, how many black and arab french hold important positions? Horrible in the past and present

  2. US: do i need to say anything? Slavery, jim crow, economic inequality, CIA involvement in Africa, genocide of indians, the war against drugs, industrial prison complex, the list goes on and on

  3. England: Biggest Colonial power in history, destroyed Indias economy (24% of world gdp to less than 2% in decades ), Concentration camps in Africa that Nazi Germany used for inspiration, Cecil Fucking Rhodes, genocides of natives in all colonies etc... Historically the worst but nowdays not very present in Africa and the 3rd world from what I know.

Belgium: King Leopolds Ghost. Country that is not hated enough

Portugal: Created the Transatlantic slave trade, held their african colonies until very recently

Switzerland: Harbored Nazis and most importantly Nazi Gold for many years. Also very racist society

Netherlands: massively benefited from the slave trade and explotation of the Americas (financed the slave trade)

Spain: created a racial caste system where being black was the lowest of the lowest and that survived so that to this day not much has changed in Latin America.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, gulf states: any arab country involved in the arab slave trade where african men were castrated on masse so they wouldnt leave descendants

El Salvador: Could not enter the country if you were black for many years

Japan: didnt do anything to black people but should recognize their atrocities in ww2

Specific subsets: White south africans, white brazilians, any person with any relations to Rhodesia, mormons

Am I saying everyone in this country are racists? NO, of course not, what im saying is if you are a citizen from these countries if you critize Argentina because of racism just say that you are from a country that has done worse
