Pokemon Phoenix Red v2.0 is out now and available on HackDex!

Hey everyone! After launching v1.0 back in March, I’ve been working nonstop to improve Phoenix Red based on the feedback I received from the community, along with a ton of ideas of my own. After months of work and a LOT of testing, I’m excited to finally announce that Phoenix Red v2.0 releases this Friday, August 14th!

v2.0 PATCH HIGHLIGHTS

• 54 new Pokémon substituted into the roster (386 Dex total)
• TMs now have unlimited use
• Choose two of Professor Oak’s starter Pokémon
• 65% of Oak’s intro speech has been moved to an optional journal in the player’s basement
• New sprite designs for Red and Blue’s children
• New multiverse story elements
• Move Tutor overhaul
• Key NPC design updates
• Map design updates
  • HMs are no longer required to complete the main game
  • HMs are now primarily used for post-game puzzles
• Overworld weather added to various locations
• 15 new moves

STORY OVERVIEW

*This is intended to be a fun multiverse version of Fire Red, not a direct sequel.*

Pokémon Phoenix Red takes place approximately 20 years after the Great War between Kanto and Johto, in which Red and Blue did not survive. You play as Red’s son or daughter, beginning your Pokémon journey alongside your rival (Blue’s son).

After years of peace between Kanto and Johto, tensions are once again reaching a boiling point. Lance has fallen as Champion of both regions, and another war appears to be imminent.

With Kanto’s greatest heroes gone, it’s up to you and your rival to rise to the challenge, become Champion, and prevent history from repeating itself.
