LPT: Buy a water spray bottle to stay cool in the heat

I don't have an AC or fan (my last 3 stopped working from constantly being on) so I got one of those water spray bottles today. The heat wave this month has been so bad but now I can just take my shirt off and spray myself and it cools me down instantly. This has been a lifesaver

How should I explain John 1:1-5 to a Christian?

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God; this one was in the beginning with God; all things happened through Him, and without Him not even one thing happened that has happened. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men, and the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it." (Jn. 1:1-5).

I had another uplifting dream

For context I'm a Baháʼí and was a Muslim growing up. While praying yesterday I asked Baháʼu'lláh directly to appear to me.

Then this morning I saw the Prophet Muhammad in a dream. He spoke a few words to me.

When I woke up I was very confused why I had met the Prophet Muhammad in this dream when I had only asked to meet Baháʼu'lláh. Then I was reminded of these words:

"For they (the Manifestations of God) are all but one person, one soul, one spirit, one being, one revelation." - Baháʼu'lláh, Kitáb-i-Íqán.

Being that I used to be a Muslim, I understand now that my meeting Muhammad in this dream was meeting Baháʼu'lláh as they both are one and the same spirit. Thought I'd share since this dream was very uplifting for me personally. I hope others also are encouraged to pray.

A dream I had before becoming a Baháʼí

When I was a Muslim and investigating the Baháʼí Faith, I saw a dream one day in which I was standing infront of a large fiery furnace in my room, and I was baking something in it. Then I heard a loud, angry voice as though coming from heaven saying: "Will you follow Me, or Moses?" When I say this voice was "angry," it truly was furious and terrifying, and I was terrified. When I woke up I understood that this was God reprimanding me for not accepting Baháʼu'lláh, and that by 'Moses' was meant Mohammad, whose teachings and divine laws I followed before becoming a Baháʼí.

This is one of two dreams I had which confirmed my belief in the Baháʼí Faith, and both included this voice from heaven. Thought I'd share since there aren't many experiences like these available online, aside from a handful (such as Reinee Pasarow's dreams and NDEs, which also influenced my decision in converting).

Mama Artificial Pork Flavor

These are seriously good. I had them just now and I'm honestly still kinda salivating at how flavorful they are. It doesn't even need any extra ingredients, it's just perfect by itself. I might even like these more than the Mama Shrimp Creamy Tom Yum since these are 10/10 WITHOUT me adding an eggyolk, laogonma and buldak sauce

Also they're kinda spicy which I love, my lips are still burning a little bit but they're definitely not too spicy, more like a mild spicy sensation

Edit: reading the ingredients it looks like, at least in Europe where I live, these are vegetarian and don't contain any actual meat. do with that information what you will.

Good deeds in the Baha'i faith

In Islam whoever reads one letter of the Qur'an Allah records one good deed for him, and every good deed is multiplied by ten (or even more so in the month of Ramadan, and on Laylatul Qadr). And whoever reads Surah al-Ikhlas of the Qur'an once receives the good deeds of reading one-third of the entire Qur'an. And whoever greets another person (by saying Peace be upon you) has ten good deeds recorded for them, and whoever responds to them has ten good deeds recorded for them... etc.

Is there any such concept of "good deeds" in the Baha'i faith? I have found nothing at all to suggest that reading Baha'ullah's writings results in good deeds being recorded, or how many are recorded in any such case.

I just tried Nissin Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu

I made this a week ago with the broth, but the water just made it too bland for my taste and I was originally gonne give it a 6/10.

But I tried it again today without too much broth (only like 4 tablespoons of water) and that made it a 10/10. I added lao gon ma and buldak sauce and it was just amazing. If I had to describe the taste I would say it tastes like how you imagine Logion 17 in the gospel of Thomas would taste like, it's that good

Reflections about the soul

The Holy Writings, the Qur'an and the Bible all evidence that everything in this world was made as signs to mirror the things of the divine realm. For example...

  • The fetus in the mother's womb is likened to the soul's existence in this world.
  • The birth of the fetus is likened to our physical death.
  • The fetus receives its life from a female (which was directly created from male), and the soul receives spiritual life from the Holy Spirit (which directly emanates from God).
  • Male and female were once one, and must reunite to become one flesh again (Gen. 2:24). In a similar way the soul's purpose is a spiritual reunion with God.
  • Male and female are not ashamed of each other when they are united (Gen 2:25). The soul is similarly not ashamed of God when it is united with Him.
  • But when the soul has separated from God, it becomes ashamed of Him and seeks to hide from His presence (Gen. 3:7). And vice versa, when the male is not united with female, they cannot see each other naked and will cover themselves up with clothes ("hiding" from each other).
  • Etc...

So logically speaking it would make sense that the soul has its sign in this world. After some thoughts I've pretty much come to the conclusion that the physical body is a representation of the soul, and the shadow a representation of the physical body.

The shadow has no will on its own. Whatever the physical body does, the shadow imitates exactly. Wherever the physical body goes, the shadow follows. Although the shadow may be seen doing all these things, it is not truly the shadow, but rather the physical body, that does them. And just as the physical body is wholly incapable of comprehending the soul, the shadow is unable to comprehend the physical body (think about it, the shadow is 2-dimensional and lacks even the ability to think). When one's shadow disappears, such as when one enters into a well-lit space, the physical body remains. And similarly when we leave this world of darkness and enter the light, our soul remains though our physical body perishes...

Thought I'd share since this was on my mind for a while. I wonder if there's anything in the Holy Writings to corroborate this.
