Another day another pointless queue at the Renfrew bridge

Bridge closed 10.30am-12pm. Photos taken at 10.45am. £117,000,0000 spent and the bridge doesn’t tell people what time it re opens causing pointless queues every day. I noticed the re open time is shown at the bus stop of all places 😮 like people have already this was a design flaw. Just put another electric sign up with the re open times at the bridge to help people out 👍

Serious flaw with Renfrew bridge

Only 2 vehicles waiting in this photo but not uncommon to have 10 vehicles plus waiting, thinking the bridge is about to open. I have the website link on my phone so if I pass by I’ll tell people they’ll be waiting for ages sometimes over an hour. People say thanks, the queue clears but then more vehicles come.

All they need to do is put the mother fucking time it reopens beside the bridge to save everyone a lot of time and frustration.

Mon whoever is in charge of this. I can only clear the queue for free for so long. I’ve got a job / stuff to do.

UPDATE: lol the person who called it idiot tax. Bit harsh. This is the link I use to see the opening times. It’s saved onto my iPhone homepage.

I’ve noticed their communication has been terrible recently. Loads of comments under their posts are negative and people trashing them.

Constant broken promises to new entrants over equalisation and no sign of it ever happening. Always not the union fault it hasn’t happened, another vote, loads of excuses and blaming old / current board. And even if it equalisation does happen, it will likely be staggered and kick in once you reach 3.5 years employment.

I maintain new entrants and legacy staff should not be allowed to vote on the same issues or pay. Legacy staff can overwhelm any vote in their favour so a new entrant vote is effectively pointless.

Personally, I don’t like the union. Just my opinion. There’s always an excuse and they always need more money and members to be more effective in negotiations. They’re clearly in bed with Royal Mail and their communication skills are poor and confusing. They were also in charge when the two tier pay system was introduced, but again = that wasn’t their fault. It never is. Every deal they negotiate is always the best deal possible.

So yeah. I’m curious to see how other people see it.

I imagine legacy staff who get £2 an hour more for the same job and enjoy paid breaks are happier with the union. Just a guess.
