First job interview after severe burnout. Still dealing with anxiety but feeling better.

I was procrastinating my return to corporate work life for a while and I am slowly getting back to speed.

I was contacted by one particular recruiter back in November, but I decided not to proceed with an interview then.
They ended up calling me again yesterday due to unexpected team vacancy and I said you know what, let’s do this.

Just had the interview, first round with another person from the same recruiting agency.
I actually used to work for the company few years back and was kinda looking forward to working for them again. Trying to hype myself up etc etc.

It went… not exactly horribly, but I received questions such as why do you want to work on this position, why should we hire you, what is your biggest selling point?

Umm… you tell me that! You’re the one who’s been trying to recruit me!
But you can’t say that, can you…

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, so I’m doing both 😂

Differences in book translations

After years of reading the translated books this is the first time I am reading (or listening to) originals.

It’s funny how some things are translated or changed - and I get it, especially with jokes.
It makes me feel like I am reading a new story, in a way.

Here are few things that I noticed, feel free to add your observances!

- Rilla in the last book (btw called ‘Anne’s daughter Rilla’ instead of RoI) stammers, not lisps. So there is no ‘Yeth’, but ‘Y-y-yes’ instead.

- Ken calls her ‘Rilla, my little Rilla’ - I was not aware there was a potential age gap between them, this surely plays into it.

- Paul’s catchphrase is ‘You get me/you understand, miss teacher’ and ‘My mommy’. I was confused about little mother.

- Gog and Magog are mispronounced as an equivalent of Ron and Moron.
