NEET Journey - The End

I made another post about victory day and someone asked about my journey till here so here we go.

Till 7th grade I was an above average student. My strengths were science and social science and everyone predicted I would go for arts of sthg like that. My math skills were non existent i used to score 7/80 but everyone overlooked that cause I was great in other subjects. Decided to join a tuition, saw results quick but then Covid happened and I went back to my old self.

In 10th i joined another tuition which again was great and I passed boards with a good score in math. Might be average to others but its crazy to me that I pulled it off in months.

In 9th I wanted to be an army pilot but I have some health issues and parents said that was too dangerous so I looked into other jobs in the army and decided to become an army doctor instead.

In 10th i benefited from Vedantu's youtube physics classes so decided to join their 2 year online course for 11th and 12th.

Welp that didn't work out. Their biology faculty was top notch. The notes and the tricks were so great that throughout my journey at brilliant, besides the extra stuff I never had to 'learn' or understand a concept in biology, I just had to revise the concepts and read ncert for statements.

So was their chemistry. The number of tricks I got from them were crazy.

Physics didn't quite work out as I quickly realized that I needed offline classes for any math or math related subjects like physics.

In 12th it was the same as 11th for bio but my chem teacher at vedantu quit and couldn't adjust to the new one so I fumbled physics AND chemistry in this time.

By the time neet arrived I already decided to take a drop and go to pala. Admission was set so didn't study at all for my first NEET attempt. Went to exam watching kabhi khushi kabhi gham the night before and scored an amazing 256 with 7L rank.

Then I arrived at Pala:

I couldn't solve physics and chemistry questions at all in the beginning.

I spent 7 hours trying to solve 70 questions from physics workbook. I was so frustrated I had to check the solutions each time. I basically lived in professors room as in 2025 repeaters batch we didn't have video solutions for workbook. They uploaded a pdf with answer key. Some had explanations and most didn't. I was so close to the physics teachers by that point that they used to ask why I don't come to them if I didn't show up that day.

Chemistry was also quite cooked as I could not solve questions from mole concepts chapter. Idk what it was but I absolutely couldn't. Organic was way better for me. Chapters like equilibrium, thermodynamics were gone cases.

Bio was fine.

From January to Match 2025 all I did was physics. From 8:15 am to 9pm all I did was physics. In the beginning when I couldn't solve questions I would stare at it for at least 5mins giving myself time to think of ways to solve this question even tho I had absolutely no idea. Then I would give up and look at the solutions. I kept a separate book where I copied the questions and solutions in a step wise manner. For every question there's a million ways to solve it. I would explore different ways and write down the one which was most logical to me. Later on when I started recognizing the pattern, I only copied down the questions that I thought were more advanced from my previous level.

It's not like I purposely avoided chem and bio during this. Everyday I planned to use the time when I have the most energy for physics then at night I decided to alternate chem and bio but that didn't work out. I was mentally exhausted by 9pm and passed out every single day and woke up the next day.

During this i developed a cyst, symptoms of PCOD, my vision got blurry, slipped from the stairs near proff room (A block) and sprained my ankle, barely could take a shower etc etc

April-May i continued physics routine but reduced duration cause after exams in the afternoon then correction then premodel and it's correction you'd be absolutely exhausted. In the mornings before exam I would do physics guides. During this my chem and bio only survived thanks to the exams. I just revised concepts through exams.

Then the glorious day arrived, i absolutely cooked the exam. Got a lot of negatives in bio, my chem was the best and scored less than 50 in phy. It was full of regret cause when I finally started to understand and enjoy physics the time was up already. NEET 2025 WAS CRAZY. In physics section, the questions were so long that after you finish reading the entire question you'd forget what was in the beginning. The whole page was packed with lengthy questions I thought ur was an essay.

Still can't believe the nerve i had to go for neet without reading bio or organic chem ncert at least once before exam but that showed in my results lmao🤡

Convinced my parents to let me take another drop this time and I did things a lot better. But in the beginning of rerepeat i was mentally disturbed. It was so depressing. I was really excited when I got back to pala but when classes started i began to lose it. I arrived a week late for my batch and they already finished a good portion of 1D. I told my parents i wanted to quit this and they were ready but then I decided to switch to a new batch that was starting next week and that somehow worked out.

I topped in the first weekly exam then never again lol.

Everyday, I used to solve questions from every brilliant material they gave from the part they taught that day. Read questions and decide if it was taught this day. Workbook, study package, assertion reason and pyq. I wanted to do guide but only could find the time to do that during the weekends. On other days brilliant material and ncert. In the beginning I used to read chem and phy ncert but couldn't keep up later on.

Model exams arrived, never topped but my i somehow came in top 5 in class which wasn't all that great cause my class performances sucked. Everyone was tensed, won't blame them after what we went through last year (this was rerep batch).

I saved ALL of my last year question papers and answer keys. I went through them all + guides + sample papers on the app.

The glorious day arrived again. I thought I did well but I didn't lol🤡

Neet cancellation. Decided to not go back to pala and go to an offline brilliant exam centre nearby. I wrote some online too. I was exhausted by this point. Everyday when I wake up the first thing I used to see was that someone took their own life. It was terrible I gave up by that point. Decided to face whatever came next.

Reneet arrived. Never once in my life have I cried after an exam until this. I lost my composure, by the end of the last 15mins i didn't even finish reading all the physics questions and started crying but somehow managed to do wtv I could.

Later on I realized reneet worked in my favor because this time I made the cut off, I made the rank list and I could def go to a govt college even if it's not a top state GMC.

My story isn't great and you def don't have to go through all this unnecessary stress like I did. I had to find what worked for me and it took time.

If there is any advice I can give then:

  1. Don't spend your time trying to learn physics formulas. Solve questions. They won't ask you direct formula based questions much. There's no point in knowing formulas if you don't know how to use them.

Take any guide, cengage, pradeep etc. Pradeep has a lot of topic wise questions where you can learn basic ways to apply formula then move on to more advanced books.

  1. Don't try to learn physics from watching videos. Watching videos is great you can see how teachers solve questions but you won't really learn. Only watch videos to see solutions of questions you couldn't solve and not as a way to study itself. Solving by yourself is always better. It will take a lot of time in the beginning but it's every bit worth it.

I fell in love with physics like that. This is coming from someone who was desperate to understand 1D as it was my weakest chapter.

In the beginning I couldn't solve anything but towards christmas vacation i could solve about 400-600 physics questions alone from 8:30 am to 5:30pm.

I couldn't solve 2D till I attended Jaison sir's remedial class during my first drop. (Goat for a reason)

My physics pookies:

- Jobins Antony 💔🎀

- Harshal Sir

-Twinky

- Anoop Sir (oscillations)

- Vineeth

- Ullas Sir (goat) (waves)

- Vishwajith sir

- Anwar sir

- Unni B (current electricity goat)

- Jairo sir (doubt solving legend, he wants you to understand the concept more than you want to, will give you tricks if you ask)

- Sumesh sir

  1. If you struggle with some basic concepts chemistry mole concepts part like normality and stuff, refer study package notes. I often found it that study package has way better notes than lecture note.

You'll understand normality better with electrochemistry chapter.

Chem🎀:

- Anoop sir (you guys should use him. He is the holy grail for chem. During Christmas break I didn't go back home soley because he said he'll be here during then and we can come and get whatever notes we want.)

Anoop sir has a book for practical chem which you can purchase online. GET IT. TAKE A PHOTOCOPY ANYTHING. You only need that book for all of chem practical and purification chapters. Trust me on this. During winter break i spent 3 hours in prof room, me and one other guy from another batch. I took pics of his entire personal short note book, everything he had to offer. SO MANY TRICKS. He might cuss you out and he's a bit rogue but he's a very nice person. trust.

-Sajo Sir: His p-block online class is nothing but ncert so read the book if you wanna save time but feel blessed if he comes to take electrochemistry for you. He single handedly cleared all my doubt. This man is not overrated.

-Ramankutty sir. He's retired from brilliant now but he wants to teach so bad he'll do it for free. He gave me his number the week before he left and he beg me to ask him questions. I will absolutely give you his number of you want to take it seriously and respectfully ask him doubts. He goes to sleep at 10pm and he's doesn't take organic chemistry but he tries and he will give you correct answers that ncert relevant.

-Sankarawarrier Sir: what more do I even say about this man.

Bio🪂

- Gopinathan Sir

- Krishapriya ma'am

-SREEJITH SIR AHHHH

- Roshini: you need her for respiration chapter

- Jimmi sir (consider yourself unlucky if you don't get him for genetics 1)

- Sajitha ma'am (she's not on campus all the time but if you get for genetics 2 then you're set)

- Deepa Narayan ma'am: get her notes for as many chapters as you can. She's a trick bank. Get her evolution and human reproduction tricks.

There are a lot of other teachers that I couldn't mention. I wish I could give you more advices but I keep forgetting stuff. If you ask me what you want to know I might be able to help.

Again I'm not a topper. Just someone who managed to make it out this time. Stay consistent no matter what even if you don't make any rank list till then. It doesn't matter who gets weekly exam cash prize or pen and who gets A+. I've seen kids who get top scores the entire year fall or and kids who stayed silent come up so trust yourself.

N24:256, 7L rank

N25: 478, 79k rank

N26: 620

ReN26: 587, 14.6k rank

Turned out to be a lot longer than I expected.

Victory day

Went to pala today for victory day. It was absolutely unreal. After receiving my medal on stage I went to A block and basically the whole building was empty (almost). I just walked through the hallways like I did a million times before and all these new repeaters were asking me advice. I used to be one of them.

Every single teacher was proud af, my parents were absolutely thrilled all relatives calling and congratulating them. It felt amazing to be able to do that for them.

Food was bombastic.

Investments for students

I'm 20F, starting college as an MBBS student this year. I come from a family where we survive on my dad's 9-5 and no one knows or is interested in investments or growing their wealth. I grew up as a gulf NRI and is moving back for college but we're not the stereotypical RICH rich NRI you see or know.

I have always been interested in topics such as stock markets and investments but so far never found the time to sit down and keep aside time to explore more. From a few AI searches I figured out I need to study more about this but have absolutely no idea what exactly I'm supposed to study or where to study or how to even start.

I assume I won't be having as much time to put into actively learning this once I start college in a month or two so would absolutely need to invest most of time right now into this.

While I was looking for this on the internet I came across a few terms such as ETF's and stocks but I still don't have an exact idea of how I'm going to dive into this so rn I'm in absolute need of any advices you would have for someone like me🦑🔥

iPad for Med school

I'm joining Med school soon and have been waiting for BTS hoping to get pencil pro for free. So far after some research I decided to get an iPad air M4 256gb 13 inch. I mainly need one for notes and for textbooks (don't wanna carry around those heavy books). I do have some concern regarding the battery life as after reading some posts on Reddit I found out it has a lower battery life than the base model and pro? What do you guys think

Error in ticket name

I booked tickets from DXB to India for august a few days ago. Just saw today that my mom's last name on it has an additional word . Example if name is Karena Kapoor then the name on ticket is Karena Food Industries Kapoor. It came automatically because of her work designation and I just noticed. Is this a problem?? I tried looking for air India express customer service email but I can't find anything even the chatbot on WhatsApp isn't helping.
