[COD] Why I don't like COD WW2's campaign

I never liked this game. I can't think of a single good thing about this besides the fact it was boots on the ground. But I'll just talk about the campaign, though I will die on the hill that multi and zombies are some of the worst iterations of it we've ever gotten. But I'll give you a few reasons here.

  1. The characters: Daniels was an alright protagonist, but I did not like any other character, except maybe Turner. Yeah, probably Zussman as well. I don't remember any other names. Just really weak characters compared to some others, I guess. Still beats "Player" in Black Ops 3, lmao. Some characters I just feel are insults to actual veterans.

  2. The setting. While I do like the idea of Omaha all the way to the Rhine, there was a lack of a British campaign or a Russian one either. I feel like that one mission where you played as that French resistance lady was forced stealth since you couldn't fight until after you completed your objective.

  3. The writing. The pacing was horrible, some missions were flat out boring, and dialogue felt stale and dry. Oh, and in one mission, I remember a German soldier shooting one of his comrades for surrendering! What do you mean they didn't search him for guns???

Now, with that out of the way, feel free to insult the crap out of me if you want to.

I broke my leg in the dumbest way possible, AMA

What basically happened was I fell off the roof installing Christmas lights for my parents last year. To make matters more embarrassing, they live in the deep South, and there was no snow. I was just clumsy. I basically fell, and their house is two stories, hit my leg HARD on the roof of the garage, and just landed on my back. I tried to walk it off until I realized I couldn't walk. Without holding something.

Why Infinite Warfare is a great Call of Duty (and why it was hated so much)

Infinite Warfare goes into my top 5 COD games of all time. I love everything about it (except for multiplayer, that was just pay to win). I don't play much multiplayer, so it goes into my top 5. I'll tell you why I love Infinite Warfare so much and why you should buy it or revisit it. And I'll tell you why people hate it as well. I'll just start off with why people hate it.

Multiplayer. These were literally people who were tired of multiplayer. Also jetpacks and advanced movement. They didn't give it a chance because it had the SAME movement they had in Black Ops 3, which is basically a fan favorite.. They just say "Oh, COD is the same every year." Clearly these people have never played the first 3 COD games. They were WW2. All of them were WW2. And for those who argue "but multiplayer was pay to win". THEN PLAY THE CAMPAIGN OR ZOMBIES! OR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY IT, JUST PLAY BLACK OPS 3 OR ANOTHER COD! There is literally one reason to hate this game, and it's an easy easy fix.

Now I'll tell you why it's great.

The campaign in my opinion goes with the greats like COD 2, MW1, 2, and 3, WaW, BO1 and BO2, and dare I say (don't kill me) COD Ghosts. It had great writing, a great story, a great atmosphere, it was cinematic, fun, and I enjoyed every second of it. E3N, Salter, Reyes, Macmillan, Gator, Kashima, and the rest of the crew aboard the Retribution were amazing characters. The Jackal combat was fun, and the ship raids were amazing. Those last missions were heartbreaking, but I won't spoil anything. I loved how we could go around the solar system. It felt like a Star Wars game, which granted, is not normal for COD, but hey, I'll take it over a shitstorm like BO7.

And zombies too. Zombies on Spaceland is amazing. I love Spaceland and that 80s feel. A great big amusement park to go explore while fighting waves of undead Temu Britney Spears and Michael Jacksons was so fun to play through. Greatest zombies not made by Treyarch, hands down.

Now you can hate on me as much as you want, but it's still a great game. Can't change my opinion on that and if you sat down and played it you would know what I'm saying.

AMA I still work at Gamestop, and I'm starting to regret it

I've worked at Gamestop for maybe about a few months and I originally loved my job, but now I regret applying. I have to constantly deal with kids who cry over me not giving them a free console. It makes me sad to see how kids went from saving up money mowing lawns to buy a PS3 to trying to bargain for a PS5 like it's Pawn Stars. I know they're just kids and all, but you can't constantly use the same excuse. I don't get paid too much. I guess just AMA provided it doesn't talk about race, religion, or politics.

I work at Gamestop. AMA

I've worked at Gamestop for a year now. Love my job. I do live in a dangerous part of town though, so it's a little unsettling that people are getting mugged 200 feet away. I enjoy my job a lot. I don't like what games parents are letting their kids buy nowadays. Can't think of anything else to type. AMA

[COD] Infinite Warfare: Why it's the saddest Call of Duty campaign

If you've played COD: Infinite Warfare, you know about the campaign. It's good and beautifully written. Now I'm going to break down why it makes a grown man cry.

  1. You spend hours playing it, only to see you, and every other character die except for 4. You lose everybody else.

E3N: Dies in an effort to stop the SDF.

Griff: dies in last stand protecting Reyes from SDF

Kashima: Bleeds to death after the Ret crashes

Gator: Turned into Swiss Cheese saving Reyes

Gibson (Boss): Blown up along with the Ret's hanger

Macallum: Blown up to preserve the mission

Reyes: Helmet shatters in space

Admiral Raines: Blown up in Geneva

  1. The memorial in the credits scene. It showed almost every character who died's last testament to their families. E3N's made me cry. It really did. I'll paste it here

"Sir, we're behind enemy lines now, in the heat of battle. Time is short. You've given an order from which there is likely no return. You did what had to be done. All in. I'm proud of you. You're a born leader, sir. Today was one of the worst days in history, and forgive me for saying it - but it was the greatest day of my life. I did everything I was trained for, and more. Together, we fought the good fight. Over Titan, you said we were brothers. I always wanted to know what a family really is. Now, I do. Admiral Raines told me that a soldier is only as good as his last mission. If this is ours, then I can say with certainty, we were damn good, sir. Better to burn out, than it is to rust. Metal-1, out."

  1. The characters. They're lovable. They really are. When you see them die, it hurts. And with each character dying, it hurts a little more each time.

All in all, Infinite Warfare taught us life is short and to enjoy it while you still can.

[COD] Ranking EVERY Call of Duty campaign

I have played EVERY mainline Call of Duty. Every single one. All of them. We WILL start with COD1, not COD4. I'll explain why these campaigns are up here and if you should play them or not.

  1. Modern Warfare 2. This was the most cinematic, best, Call of Duty of all time, not just in the campaign, but it Co-Op too. Highly recommend it to the moon and back.

  2. World at War. This was the darkest WW2 game I've ever played. It's hands down the best World War 2 shooter of all time. Nobody can convince me otherwise. Nobody. Recommend it highly.

  3. Infinite Warfare. This was easily the saddest campaign ending in any Call of Duty. Semper Fi Kash, Griff, Gator, E3N, Mac, and Omar, Semper Fi. Only COD to ever make me sob. Highly recommend it.

  4. Modern Warfare 3. The ending the ABSOLUTE BANGER of the Modern Warfare trilogy is here, and it's awesome in every way possible. That ending was so satisfying. Recommend it ONLY if you've played the first two, or at least MW2.

  5. Black Ops 1. A sequel to WaW. Despite the time period, it has NOTHING to do with the Vietnam War, and when it does, it's almost NEVER like how it really was. Recommend it if you like cool cinematic games, but don't if you want Vietnam War.

  6. COD 4: Modern Warfare. It's a good campaign. All I can really say since I haven't played it in over 5 years. Recommend it

  7. Call of Duty 2. This game is beautiful. If they gave the game sprinting, it would be my favorite COD ever. Highly recommend it.

  8. Black Ops 2. It's really good. Just really overrated (overrated doesn't mean bad). Multiple endings is cool ig. Recommend it.

  9. MW19. Only rebooted COD campaign that was good. Wow, they fucked it up in MWII. Recommend it!

  10. Call of Duty. Playing this on veteran makes me understand why the veterans got PTSD. Absolutely recommend.

  11. Black Ops Cold War. 80s time period was alright I guess. Recommend it if you like stealth.

  12. Ghosts. END OF THE WORLD! Needs a sequel. That cliffhanger has been keeping me on edge for almost 13 years.

  13. Advanced Warfare. Very blockbustery. I thought it was good. Recommend it.

  14. Black Ops 6. Started off great, then gradually got worse as time progressed. What the fuck were those final 2 missions? Only recommend it if you're going to get halfway through, stop and then never pick it up again.

  15. Call of Duty 3. Introduced sprinting. Cool ig. Very dry campaign. Don't recommend it.

  16. Black Ops 3. SO DAMN CONFUSING! Just don't buy it unless it's for multi or zombies.

  17. MWIII. Open Combat missions were a cool concept, just executed TERRIBLY. Don't buy it for the campaign. Multiplayer is really good though.

  18. MWII. Campaign was garbage. Only good part about this game in general was DMZ. Don't buy it for the campaign.

  19. Vanguard. Campaign was SO short and it didn't really feel that good. If you have a lot of time on your hands, play the campaign. If not, don't.

  20. WW2. It's going so low because Sledgehammer captured World War 2 in all of the wrong ways in my opinion. I find the story to just be awful. Depending on the person, they might tell you it's great or terrible. Unsure.

  21. Black Ops 7. It's terrible in every aspect. It's a sequel to Black Ops 2, but we didn't even NEED a sequel to it. Don't play the campaign. There are no friendly bots.

  22. Black Ops 4. It doesn't even have a campaign.

Trade in value for a Nintendo Switch with heavy stick drift

My Switch has stick drift on the blue Joycon and I'm wondering if it will affect the trade in value by over 20 bucks or if they won't accept it at all. It should be an easy fix but if it isn't, I'm wondering how it'll work.

What platform do you play on? (options and rules in post body)

Your options are Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, PC, VR, Phone, and Tablet. If you're using VR or any of the consoles which model is it?

Rules:

  1. It must be something you currently use, not something you used to own (example would be you OWNED a Nintendo DS but you don't use it anymore)

  2. If you play on Phone/Tablet, it must be an actual game with multiplayer.

  3. Keep it appropriate.

I'll reply to all of the comments.

[COD] My tier list (please don't hate me for these hot takes lmao)

I have gathered all of my really hot takes and gathered them into these paragraphs. Enjoy!

COD 2 in S: Story was awesome. Hands down one of the best World War 2 shooters ever made.

Infinite Warfare in S: Campaign was so beautifully written and made and zombies was the best Non-Treyarch zombies mode.

COD 4 in A: It was a good game, but there was a lack of a third mode and All Ghillied Up was a great mission, just not a phenomenal one.

BO3 in A: Campaign sucked, sure, but zombies was so good! Multiplayer was also kind of fun to play on with the jetpacks and the Kuda was a DEMON!

Ghosts in B: A lot of you would say C tier or D tier, but I liked the campaign a lot and multiplayer sucked, especially Stonehaven, but I thought extinction was kind of cool.

MWIII in B: Campaign was ok, just so short, and multi was awesome. Zombies sucked.

BO6 in B: Multi was alright, campaign was great until the last 2 missions, and zombies wasn't too notable.

MW19 in C: Multi sucked, spec ops sucked, and campaign was phenomenal.

BO4 in F: It belongs there. There was no campaign, zombies was alright but not very notable, and blackout is just so overrated. Multiplayer was something I played but never got into.

WWII in Worst COD ever: Campaign was so sanitized and stupid. Turner's death was all cinematic and blockbuster-like and was supposed to be sad, but it just killed the World War 2 vibe for me. I hated how there was healthpacks in the campaign and I hate how historically inaccurate it was. Not Vanguard inaccurate, but still inaccurate. They made Omaha look easy. I find the campaign an insult to all veterans who fought in World War 2. Sledgehammer put no thinking into the campaign and made it your average World War 2 movie with the biggest wuss in COD history, Daniels, the only guy with any sanity, Zussman, and the guy who cared way too much about one squad, Turner. I know that I just hated on one of the most loved COD characters, but a Lieutenant is supposed to care about the whole COMPANY, not just a random dude's squad. Multi was glitchy at launch and I never picked up on the divisions. This isn't Battlefield, this is Call of Duty! And Zombies was the worst I had seen until MWIII launched. MWIII's zombies was so bad even WWII wasn't worse. It deserves no love at all in my opinion.

Advice on Japan and South Korea

I went to Japan and South Korea last summer. Here is some advice through 20 tips and tricks.

  1. JAPAN NOR SOUTH KOREA ARE AS EXPENSIVE AS PEOPLE SAY!
  2. In Tokyo, don't go to an overnight bar in early morning. Some bartenders drink their own stock.
  3. Visit a Pokemon center in Japan, even if you're not a Pokemon fan. It's still a cool experience.
  4. Take the trains! It's slower than planes, but it's worth seeing the scenery of rural Japan.
  5. Go to 7-11! You can find all sorts of goodies there!
  6. Try some Wagyu beef and K-BBQ unless you can't for religious reasons or you're a vegetarian/vegan. I can tell you a good place in Kyoto for Wagyu. I don't remember the name, but it's this Teppanyaki joint you need a reservation for. It's by a 6 story mall and a Starbucks. Go through a passageway and open that traditional Japanese door thingamajig that I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE CALLED! Probably a door lmao, but it should have 5 or 6 seats. Everyone there is super friendly and food is amazing. It's near the geisha district. I'll give you the name if I can remember.
  7. In Korea, reserve a DMZ tour about a month before you go. It's really interesting stuff and you can see what North Korea and the Korean War looked like. Really cool things
  8. In Incheon, don't call Ubers. They can't speak English and they don't do their jobs too well.
  9. In Japan, visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Really cool history and it's a nice place to relax and honor those who died during the atom bombs.
  10. Visit a samurai/ninja museum
  11. On Jeju, try the orange juice brand that has one of those grandpa things as a bottle. Also try some black pork.
  12. Just wander the streets of Seoul. Many hidden gems.
  13. DON'T BUY ANYTHING MADE BY A CORPORATION AT A STREET MARKET! THEY'RE EXPENSIVE!
  14. Stay for at least 2 weeks. Even then you won't even know about half of the culture. I regret not staying for a month.
  15. Bring basic rain stuff (ponchos and raincoats) and short sleeved stuff. Also bring long sleeves and closed toed shoes for rain. Only bring open toed shoes at all if you're going to the beaches.
  16. At the DMZ, don't fool around. Respect those trapped in North Korea and respect the soldiers on both sides. They both have forced military service.
  17. If you're flying from the US like I did, if you have a high budget, book at least above economy.
  18. Once you arrive near the DMZ, there is a military checkpoint. If you have a criminal record, this is only for felonies, you will not be allowed through.
  19. Visit tea and rice farms while in Japan.
  20. Be respectful and use common sense! If you wouldn't do it in your home country, don't do it there.

I went from July 3rd to the 19th. I was in Japan until the 13th, then in Korea until the 19th. A reminder: Most of these things are on Tripadvisor. I flew American there and Korean back. Don't get your hopes up about Korean Air. I flew American Airlines premium economy from DFW to HND, and on the way back Korean Air economy ICN-DFW.
