Wolverine PS5 Console preorder questions

I tried to preorder the console bundle in store today but was told it’s only available online. I have a console I want to trade in towards the preorder so my question is how could I go about doing this? Can I apply trade credit to an online preorder?

Bonus Money Missing

Everyone check your paystubs GameStop is pulling a fast one. Remember when they introduced the bonuses yeah well our District manager told us that we would be getting a 200 dollar bonus on our paycheck because we qualified to be put into the bonus. All of my coworkers and myself included only got 40 bucks of the promised 200 and we all know we didn't make new stores we actually lost stores. So what are we gonna do about this.

What the hell happened?

I've been a GameStop Pro member since I can remember and I'm even an ex employee. On my last visit I was going to renew my pro membership and noticed it's gone up $10. That's okay and all since inflation is a thing but redeeming my coupons and points has turned into such a pain in the ass.

Just simply asking the cashier was great and speedy.

I also noticed prices have been extremely stubborn. Like damn. That games still $60? Don't even get me started on how every promotion I've seen lately has been very misleading because of wording

Do you always have to pay the full preorder cost before release date, in order to get the 5% off (from PRO)?

After I placed a few preorders, I was told by an employee that it would be good to pay the whole amount instead of just the deposit (50% of the cost) sometime before the release date/pick-up day because the 5% discount (from PRO membership) can only be given before the release date/pick-up day.

This is my first time doing something like this, so I don't understand? I was planning to pay the remaining balance on pick-up day, so I can get the 5% off PRO before I pay the final payment, but the employee says I will lose the 5% discount if I do that.

Apparently, I have to pay in full first before release date without PRO membership discount applied. Then, on release date, I can pick it up along with a refund of the 5% that I didn't receive? Is that how it is? Why it is so complicated?

Problems Cancelling Preorders

So I placed in store preorders for Pokémon TCG with the understanding that I can cancel within 30 days of release date. The receipt even defines the release date as the day the product is released. Now when I go in store, they are stating that it's a misprint and it's actually 30 days from the preorder date. And the one preorder that showed successfully canceled in their system has not been refunded. I asked about this and they said their system shows it's canceled and to contact Gamestop customer service or my bank.

What gives? I'm beyond frustrated with this to the point I'm never pre-ordering anything with them again. Is it true it needs to be within 30 days of the preorder date??

To whoever the team at this store was, you have got to have the strongest patience in human history.

If this was your store. Please don’t say it was you as this tweet isn’t anonymous. But I just wanna say… if you manage to go through all of this with a smile on your face, you have the heart of a warrior. Also, I hope he called ahead of time to let you guys prepare and schedule accordingly 💀

Advice for working as a Seasonal

Recently, I was lucky enough to be onboarded as a seasonal member at a GameStop. The manager of the store offered me seasonal because he already hired keyholders, and he sees my potential from the interview we had prior, even though I don't have any retail or sales experience yet. He also said there's a chance I could become a full-on member later on if I am successful enough during my time there. I did the onboarding and documentation, and they even said that I should expect to start working sometime soon this September.

I'm very willing to learn all of the ropes, be as proactive as I can, and hopefully earn a full-time position if possible. (I know working at GS isn't the best paying job out there, but it works for me and my current circumstances) As I wait, I am considering making a backup plan elsewhere, seeing as they might not give me many hours at first, especially if they decide to move on with other people after my period. I'm willing to take any tips, advice or other knowledge in the meantime. :]

Charged without giving card info?

On the 15th of August, I went to purchase a digital steam card on GameStop’s website. When I went to log into my account to make the purchase my order just disappeared, I went to check my bank to see if I was charged and I was charged $20 for the purchase. I gave it 48 hours and never received the code in any of my 3 emails, so I called support and now have processed a refund. My problem is, I don’t have any of my cards saved on my account and again, I never put my card information when I was in my cart. So how would they know to even charge my card in the first place?? Granted, I did make a purchase almost a year ago for another $20 steam card but even then, there’s no way it’s even legal for them to charge my card without authorizing the purchase and the card I wanted to charge. Does anyone know the legalities behind this and has this happened to anyone before? Even if I get my refund back, I feel that it is legally wrong for them to be able to do that and I am unsure if it would even be worth it to pursue legal action.

At my wits end just trying to preorder the Fire Emblem Collector's Edition

For the past 3 days, I've been trying to preorder the Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Dagdan Collection. I have tried every single payment method possible, multiple browsers, multiple devices, multiple accounts, and still, nothing. I just want to buy this for my partner and the site refuses to let me. I even went into a GameStop today and the employee did not have the collector's edition available there.

I will say I did preorder one previously for myself on this account, but I don't think that should prevent me from ordering a second one, especially given that I used a separate account? Is there any advice anyone can give me? I already tried calling customer service and they just told me to do all the things I already did. I just want to get this game for them and GameStop is the only option available to preorder right now.

Employees and Controller Deal

During the controller promotion, both Gamestop locations in my town were declining trade-ins due to “the system being down”. While the automated system was experiencing issues, they can manually orchestrate trade-ins, but they were instead declining customer trade-ins. We were told the promotion would be extended due to this, but it was not, and the trade-in system is now miraculously working again. To the Gamestop employees complaining about this promotion and refusing to do your job - just imagine if you were the customer 🤣 My friend went to another town and their system was down, BUT, they manually did the trade in for him and said that the other locations are lying, or at least bending the truth to avoid the manual process. Thank you for lying about your capabilities due to your laziness to test a controller for five minutes. I understand the increased load on your teams is stressful, but you will forever be condemned to the rear of a Gamestop cash register with that mindset.

I HATE this controller deal as an employee

I’m going to crash the FUCK out I hate this stupid fucking deal we have going on where you get full credit on broken controllers, not only has it been super extra busy all fucking day but NOBODY has any brain cells, which doesn’t help with game stops sleasy marketing tactics making everyone think this deal is saying you can swap it out FOR a new controller rather than get money TOWARDS one, which I’ve had to explain over and over and over and over and over and over, often times multiple times to the same fucking customer cos they can’t grasp the concept of selling an item to put money towards another item, just for them to tell me “oh I don’t have my Id!” Or “oh my Id is expired!!” Meaning I just spent 20 god damn minutes going through all 35 of your somehow broken disgusting ass controllers with a massive line piling up behind you just to tell you “welp you’re a shit out of luck sorry!” Not to mention how the FUCK do you rack THAT MANY CONTROLLERS UP??? Yeah I have my fair share of controllers, but I have like 2-4 controllers PER CONSOLE I HAVE so I can play with up to 4 people on whatever I have! That’s reasonable!!! What’s not reasonable is having 35 fucking ps5 controllers all in the worst possible condition ever, or drift. P.S. fuck you GameStop for not taking retro controllers as defective for trade, I just got screamed at because “oh but the DEAL said you guys take this” yeah unfortunately NOT RETRO CONTROLLERS cos the people working in the warehouse don’t give enough of a fuck to refurbish them!
