Ok…I’m trying something for the first time. I’m traveling and took along a GL iNet MT3000 travel router in hopes of being able to access my home Emby setup. So far I’m having a little trouble.

I’ve successfully installed and activated Tailscale on the router, and connected it to the local (remote) network where I am. I can see it on my Tailscale admin panel along with my other Tailscale clients including my Emby server. And, I can successfully browse the internet through that WiFi connection.

Now, I’m trying to connect the TV in my condo to that travel router and thereby get to my Emby server.

I can connect to the travel router fine and use streaming services through it (Netflix, etc), but when I try to point the TV’s Emby app towards my home server I can’t get a connection.

So far I’ve tried plugging in the following to the Emby app as a server IP:

The IP of Emby server via Tailscale (i.e. 100.x.x.x) The IP of the travel router (i.e. 192.168.x.x) The IP of the travel router gateway (i.e. 192.168.x.1) The IP of the travel router’s Tailscale “Router Virtual IP” The Tailscale “MagicDNS”

None seem to work.

I’m a little lost here after this. I’m sure I’m missing something simple like enable “Exit Node” or “advertising subnets”

I should mention I can successfully connect to the Emby server via devices running Tailscale natively…just not through the GL iNet router.

I very recently discovered DCC and have absolutely ripped through several of the books while on vacation. Once I got near the end I felt safe enough to venture onto Reddit without anything being spoiled. When I found this sub and I just cackled with glee as I read all the amazing casting suggestions.

Simply wonderful. Literally no bad ideas. Some seem obvious, and some are positively inspired. Like many adapatations I plan on resetting my expectations before the show comes out and hope to enjoy it on its own merits.

In the interim I’m simply relishing how the fandom is running with the ball and having so much fun.

Too many posts to comment on, so just wanted to say thank you all. If Dinniman, Macfarlane et al aren’t surreptitiously keeping an eye on this chatter they’re missing a goldmine of ideas.

I’m in a space that has fiber provided with a Google Nest AC2200 WiFi router attached to it providing the initial routing and coverage. It gets spotty on the third floor and I’d like use my Eero 6+’s I have on hand to extend the coverage in bridge mode.

I already set the main Eero box to bridge mode before attaching it physically to the Google box via Ethernet. However, once I do that the internet suddenly drops from the Google broadcast (the WiFi signal is still there, it just no longer has internet available). Unplugging the Eero does not clear this condition; I need to power-cycle the Google router to get the internet to return.

Any ideas?
