Having a bad day

Had my first attack in I think the end of August. They put me on colchisine, which helped a little, but not much. Probably my fault, as I took a couple of days to go to the doctor's office. They put me on allopurinol at the end of the following week. It has been helping, but now I'm dealing with the rebound flare.

Sorry to be slightly whiney, but this sucks. Due to other health issues, I can't take anything for pain except acetaminophen, which is, as I'm sure you all know, very ineffective. I imagine I'll try to get some colchisine prescribed tomorrow, but this effing hurts. Stupid weekend flare. I'm just annoyed because I can't do anything like this.

Ugh. Like I said, just whiney about it.

This is just kind of a heads up to those who may need it

I just found this sub, and not to be all like "rah, take my advice" or anything, but...

I was just diagnosed with nearly severe iron deficiency. I apparently have no stores left. I had no idea it was an issue.

I have a brain injury which causes nearly all of the symptoms I should have noticed (ie dizziness, fatigue etc). Also, it looks like it is probably caused by a med that I'm on which inhibits iron absorption.

I feel not unlike the subject of an after school special (dating myself a bit there).

Still a couple of shocks left, I guess

Not like aftershocks or anything, but I keep getting these little blindsiding revelations. Today's was looking up what GCS of 3 actually means. Took me 7 years to actually look it up.

Dang. Just wow. I didn't realize how bad it was. I didn't really grasp what my husband meant when he said that the doctors told him things like "if she lives through the next 6 hours/12 hours/24 hours/week, she *might* be ok."

When I first read I had a score of 3, I was like "Oh, low number. So not too bad, then."

Now, I kind of get why people keep telling me how amazing I'm doing. I still feel like, well, what other option did I have? What other option *do* I have? My whole motivation for getting this far is "well I have sh!t to do." I have kids, one who was 18 and the other was 8. I have a husband, and honestly a beautiful marriage. I had a dog, even, and knew he was likely freaked out. I couldn't just die, it wasn't an option.

Now I still have sh!t to do. Good thing, I guess. I guess if you don't have time to die, it's a pretty good reason to keep going.

Today is Tuesday

And I know it. But I got a little less than 4 hours of sleep last night and I've been having to remind myself that it's Tuesday all day today. Doesn't look like it will let up any for the rest of the day.

Honestly, I'm just so over this whole no concept of time crap.
