If You Could Write Ghostbusters 3, What Would It Be About?

If you had the chance to write Ghostbusters 3 before it became Ghostbusters: Afterlife, what would your version look like?

Would it be more like Ghostbusters: The Video Game? Would you take a similar approach to Afterlife? Would you base it on the animated series? Or would you create something entirely new?

Would you keep the original Ghostbusters as the main characters, or pass the torch to a new generation? Would you retain the storyline of the Ghostbusters eventually shutting down, or would you go in a different direction? What about the canceled Ghostbusters: Hellbent idea? Would you include elements from it?

Basically, if you had been in charge of writing the long-awaited Ghostbusters 3, what would YOUR version have been?

For the sake of this question, let’s pretend Ghostbusters: The Video Game never came out and the original actors were still alive and young enough to return.
