Man there sure is a lot of wind today

Let's annoy the shipper warriors. Blaze is an independent female character that doesn't need any boyfriend or girlfriend or enbyfriend. Shipping kinda reduces Blaze to just being a love interest without any agency.

So I've started another Blaze sketch and I'm pretty happy with the progress on this one so far. Going to take my time with it.

Might take a few days to complete it.

Here's what I have so far. It's Blaze taking an afternoon summer stroll to go find a nice place to read her book.

Decided to try a more complex drawing this time. Ended up making her face fluff way too long (even by my standards) but rolled with it. Hands and feet are "there", which is the best thing I can say about them. They exist lol.

I took this as an opportunity to practice shading with colored pencils, I am moderately pleased with the result. My line work is improving I think, but I still get a little wobbly on curves. And this was my first attempt at creating a simple foreground and background.

I also finally tried my hand at a Sonic OC. Tryst Greypaw is his name, a weasel and Sol Dimension native. He's the deuteragonist of my Blaze fic I've been working on intermittently. I based his look on the Landsknecht armor of the Germanic mercenaries of the Holy Roman Empire. Again, hands and feet are "there", still working on that. Some basic lore is hes the fourth son of a minor noble house in Sol politics, and since he is not in line to be heir of his family's holdings, he instead set out to be a wandering knight. The experiences of which put him on the path to meet a certain purple pyromantic princess.

All in all, I'm happy with what I've accomplished. It is all still super rough, but when I look back on some of my earlier drawings...I've made a lot of progress.

Meaning in this hypothetical AU timeline, Eggman Nega is Sonic’s nemesis and Eggman is Blaze’s nemesis. So Blaze gets the loud and theatrical one who wants to build a theme park and have everyone worship him while Sonic gets the calm and polite one who wants to cause destruction and suffering out of sadism.

Side Note: This is also can be another way to showcase the mirror between dynamics since Sonic’s Chaos contrasts Eggman’s Order while Blaze’s Order contrasts Eggman Nega’s Chaos.

Ironically enough Eggman would allign Blaze more since both want Order in their own way and Eggman Nega aligns with Sonic more since both want Chaos in their own way.

Sonic would likely break psychologically because banters and insults would have zero effects on Eggman Nega because he’s always creepily calm and desires nothing but chaos and destruction because he’s a sick bastard who likes to watch people suffer.

Blaze would probably be better mentally because Eggman actually wants the world alive to take over it because he wants an Empire, his theme park, and people to admire him and his genius.
