People talk about how Silver and Blaze are stuck together always but… that’s just kinda not true in mainline games not including spinoffs as that’s a whole nother can of cat food but only in 06 are they both relevant and stuck together and that’s barely even Blaze to cover Blazes side as this is her subreddit

Rush + Adventure: No silver at all

06: Bethany appears with Silver

Secret rings: they are both cameos in party mode with no interactions to my knowledge

Black knight: Blaze and Silver never interact as Silver is a party exclusive

Generations: Silver mostly does his own thing but shows up with Blaze at the end could be counted but atp count Cream as Blazes partner then

Archie: they have their duo moments and such but Blaze gets her own stuff including a saga in her dimension plus Archie is.. weird

IDW: She doesn’t interact with Silv much outside of like issue 66-ish may change with new issues

Colors: They do go on a like Ferris wheel together or smth but no real relevance plus that’s a 3DS exclusive I think

Rivals: she’s a collectible/cameo

The courts final order is: They just aren’t important really the one time they are major characters is 06 and that’s 06 so the final order is give them more games😭

Why ships are not being made cannon is all because of Sega.

That's right. Silvaze, Sonaze, Blamy, Blazmega-ALL​​​​​​ VALID SHIPS (so don't come at me with that hater BS for preferring Silvaze), never get confirmed or even better development because of Sega.

My theory? It is because of the Archie Comics (and Ken Penders) giving them trouble over the way they displayed the personalities of the characters. I mean, despite obvious SonAmy hints on their games, Twitter takeover, and official posts-they remove confirmation of romantic feelings (I mean, Sonic was jealous of Shadow taking Amy to concerts because of the two sharing the same taste in music).

Thus, when Sega transferred the comic printing to IDW, they basically erased every character Archie introduced. Not only that, but included a BUNCH of guidelines that FURTHER restricts IDW's development of their personalities. That's what hits Blaze's character the most.

One guideline rule: Sonic Characters must behave a certain way. This means the characterization of Blaze and her interactions MUST be approved by Sega. Shadow has the most behavioral restrictions-which is why IDW hardly utilizes him.

But being not allowed to explore further aspects of her personality is what HINDERS Blaze (and Silver) as Character(s).

There is a blatant "no relationships guideline given by Sega to IDW. That is right. Sega blatantly said "no dating". At first, the rule EXPLICITLY was about Sonic the Hedgehog. (Basically worded: "Sonic the Hedgehog must not enter a romantic relationship-or even TEMPORARILY date Amy Rose).

THAT is why I think NO ships are going to be made cannon.

I think this is because of 2 reasons: 1) Archie Comics poor handling of the Relationships in the Sonic Comics, and 2) The Huge backlash of the SonElise romance in Sonic 06.

The Archie Comics writer at first-Ken Penders-kept trying to pair up a 16 year old Princess (Sally) with a 30 year old ruler (Monkey Khan).

Then, They BUTCHERED the Sonic Characters personalities for relationships.

1. Sonic-behind Tails' back-"stole" a young teen Fox Tails was crushing on which for a while destroyed their trust and teamwork.​

2. The constant on and off between Sonic and Princess Sally.

3. the 10 years later arc....where Tails ended up with Mina Mongoose-a woman he had No Previous interactions with.

4. Julie-Su. Knuckles dating (and marrying) his own COUSIN had some negative implications already, but then thst character ended up causing the cancelation of the Sonic Brotherhood game series AND resulted in Shade being scrapped as a recurring character. Why, you ask? Because Shade had a similar backstory to Ken Pender's "Julie-Su the Echidna". Ken-instead of seeing this as a tribute-flipped his lid and caused legal problems with Sega; made worse by ARCHIE COMICS MISHANDLING LEGAL PAPERWORK.

Now, the final nail in the coffin in my opinion.

Princess Elise of Sonic 06.

Now it is no secret that the Storyline and Gameplay of Sonic 06 is....atrocious. sad to say, Sega RUSHED that game to get it out by a certain date.

Sega, since the early development of Sonic's character, had often "toyed around" with the idea of Sonic having a...human love Interest. In early character drafts, he was next to a blonde human woman named Madonna-who was discussed to be his girlfriend.

Then there was the humanoid character in the Metal Sonic OVA...

But then Sega saw the SonElise backlash... and instead of taking it as "we messed up development", they took it as a sign of "end all relationships outside of friendship". (Personally, I think the biggest reason for the backlash was the infamous scene of Elise kissing SONIC'S DEAD BODY when earlier it showed a SINGLE CHAOS EMERALD Reviving a dead Elise as a child. The kiss was unneeded).

Not only are relationships and behavior of the characters being highly controlled by Sega....but so are AGES.

Sega Mandate to IDW: Sonic Characters are NOT allowed to age.

This means Sonic is forever 16. Blaze and Silver are forever 14....and so forth (yes I looked it up. Silver and Blaze are the same age).

Another hindrance to Blaze's development is The Sega Mandate that Sonic Characters are not allowed to experience "meaningful losses". Aka: The permanent Death of a friend. That's right. Despite showing Cosmo (Tails' love interest) sacrificing herself in Sonic X, when they gave printing rights to IDW-That was one of the mandatory mandates.

Now, my biggest gripe The Comics are NOT Allowed to explore Silver's Future OR Blaze's Dimension. That's right. That's one of the Mandates Sega gave IDW. This is why Blaze doesn't go back to rule her people, or why Silver doesn't go back to the future. We hear him talk about it, but we are never shown the Sol Dimension OR the future.

You know, thinking about that last Mandate, I REALLY hope it's because Sega is planning a game of more about those places.

So, these are the reasons I think we'll never see a confirmed Blaze ship-and why Blaze's characterization is suffering​​​
