Enchanted Resorts

So we all know that MA will never be the size of Cedar Point or Great America as a theme park, but watching Silver Dollar City, Dollywood videos etc, it got me thinking, do you ever think that MA could become more of a resort destination for Michigan and maybe the greater Midwest region? I think that would encourage people to drive off the beaten path to visit the park.

If so, over the next ten years, what would you change or add to the park to make it happen?

Do you think it could be more successful if they pivoted to a more family friendly resort vs wannabe thrill park.

Here’s some things that I would add, some is based off of certain recent news stories (don’t know if they will come to fruition).

  1. Housing/Dorms for staff. This would allow them to bring in other staff members when high school and college kids are back in school.

  2. Expand park season. April to November instead of end of May to Sept. Maybe ever throw in a winter event.

  3. Finish the loop, maybe add a show stage area to the back of the loop.

  4. Build a concert stage. Weekend concerts would be a huge draw for people. Spend your morning at the park, evening chilling or partying at a concert.

  5. More food options and add a legit (non theme park) restaurant or two.

  6. Build a Hotel or two for people to stay on site or nearby.

  7. Offer bundle passes with discounts to other West and Northern Michigan attractions. Give the millions of tourists that come to West and Northern Michigan a reason to make a day trip to the park.

  8. Add a stand out water slide or ride to an already incredible water park. Maybe make it indoors so it’s not dependent on Michigans crazy weather.

  9. Add a couple of adult flat rides (drop tower, swing)

  10. Theming! This is the chance for Enchanted parks to bring a great theme to MIA that would pay homage to Michigan and give a more immersive atmosphere for its customers.

I wanted to mention 10 things that weren’t rollercoaster related (we obviously need a new coaster), that I think could slowly turn MA more into a resort destination. What do you think?

Deals!

I know everyone wants AF1 at the park, but did you all hear about Intamins crazy deal on 3 coasters and one drop tower. I hope Enchanted jumps on this deal.

If they were to jump on this deal, what ride do you think would land at Michigan’s Adventure?

[Cedar Point Trip Report]

**Trip Report: Cedar Point!** 🎢
This past weekend, I went out to Cedar Point and had an amazing time, despite the rain on Sunday.

**Staff:**
Most of the ride crews were super nice!

**Siren’s Curse:**
I love this ride! I really hope more of these start popping up around the country. I sat in the middle row for my first ride and then the very back row for my second ride, and the back row is where it’s at!
Is it just me, or does the hanging drop feel better than a dive coaster? Albeit, it’s not as long.

**TT2:**
The last time I was at Cedar Point was the infamous year that TT2 was down for the entire season, minus eight days. This time, I finally got to ride it for the first time.
Wow. Just wow.

I got **7 rides** on it over the course of two days, including two night rides: 1 middle-row ride, 1 toward the front, and **5 very front-row rides**.
I hear that riding a trimless Voyage at night is a religious experience. Well, I haven’t experienced that yet, but I think riding front row on TT2 at 11:30 p.m. comes pretty close.
Man, speeding at **120 mph** and then heading straight up into a pitch-black sky is INSANE. It was one of the best coaster experiences of my life, probably only second to my first ride on SteVe a few years back and my solo ride on I305.

**Maverick:**
I almost gave its top spot up to Alpine Fury, but my one ride on Maverick reminded me why it’s the GOAT of multi-launch blitz coasters.

**SteVe:**
What can I say? It’s still the greatest coaster ever.

**Millie:**
Is it just me, or is Millie running faster this year? 👀

**Lastly, what are your thoughts: Do you prefer the OG Dragster or the new TT2?**

Even though the OG launch is GOATED, I have to say TT2 is the better all-around ride experience. Plus, you get to feel that 120 mph speed a lot longer than you did on Dragster.
I can’t wait to go back next year! 🎢🔥

CP Rolling Through The Years

I just picked up this book when I was at Cedar Point this past weekend. I can't wait to check it out!

Has anyone else checked this book out before?

Most popular rollercoaster?

Excluding Aeir Force One, what ride model (realistic) do you think would be the most popular if it was built at MIA?

I’m leaning towards something like Flash vertical Velocity (Great Adventure), or a wing coaster. As much as I hate dive coaster, I’d take anything at this point, so maybe a mini dive?

Flying Squirrel

I was expecting to see one of the birds that kept visiting my birdhouse, but instead I get a cool looking flying squirrel 🐿️ that’s building a nest.

[Canada’s Wonderland]

I’ll make a full post tomorrow, but I had an incredible time at Canada’s Wonderland today! First time there and it did not disappoint. I’ll definitely be back next year.
