Are allergy shots safe and effective for young kids?

My five year old has severe egg allergies, as well as allergies to dogs and dust mites, and asthma. We are currently taking Asmanex 50mcg twice a day, and Zyrtec 5ml and albuterol as needed basis.
Our allergist discussed the possibility of allergy shots and their potential benefits. I understand that this requires a significant commitment, as we would need to visit the doctor every two weeks. The most concerning aspect is whether the shots will actually be effective, and if so, how long they will provide relief from the allergy. I also worry that it will be painful for my kiddo to get these shots.

Anyone escaped from Virginia due to seasonal allergies?

We have seasonal allergies and asthma, and it’s been a significant problem. I’ve started researching other areas like the Research Triangle in North Carolina and the Denver metropolitan area, among others. Has anyone relocated from Virginia to another place due to the severe seasonal allergy conditions in Virginia? I have already moved around a lot and actually tired of it but because of allergies I am considering again. But I know I can’t handle heavy winters.

Does where you live impact your asthma?

Which region of the US do you all live in? I’m asking this because when we relocated from the west coast to Virginia, we began experiencing persistent symptoms throughout the year, not just during allergy seasons. I suspect that the high pollution levels from traffic and data centers may be affecting the asthmatics in our area. Reportedly, Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD are the asthma capitals :(

Is anyone’s asthma triggered by pollution data centers?

We’re near a bunch of data centers that are always running. In the summer, it gets super hot, and the air quality is terrible, partly because of the data centers i think. I often see the AQI on my weather app is high. Has anyone else noticed that living near a data center might be making your asthma symptoms worse?

What if we just can’t wean off a control medicine at all?

My child has been taking Asmanex as our pulmonologist recommended. The doctor suggested we could reduce the dose to once a day this month and potentially taper off in the summer. However, within a week, I noticed my child starting to experience the symptoms again, like coughing at night and chest pain. I’m concerned that we might need to continue taking the control medicine with no break. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
