Asus ProArt PZ13 refuses to update the BIOS

I have an Asus ProArt PZ13. It's currently running BIOS version v307. There's a Qualcomm Board Support Package update that includes an update to v311. Whenever I go to install that update, i'm prompted to reboot as expected, it reboots into the firmware updater but as soon as it gets to 6% it immediately jumps to "Update complete! system will restart" and when it does reboot, I'm still running the old BIOS and if I go into the Windows Device Manager I see an entry for the for `ProArt PZ13 UEFI BIOS`, in the "Firmware" tab there, it says this:

Firmware Version: 1C200307

Firmware is pending update on next system reboot.
Pending Firmware Version: 1E780311
Firmware failed to update during the last attempt.
Last Attempt Version: 1E780311
Last Attempt Date: 13/06/2026 13:18:22
Last Attempt Status: 0xC0000001
Firmware update was unsuccessful.

And it wants me to reboot again, which if I do, I have the exact same scenario and i'm still stuck on the old bios.

It's as if the firmware update is giving up silently at around 6%. Is there anything I can do to get around this?

Obviously I can't use EZFlash because that's not available for ARM devices (I've tried). I have the .311 file for the BIOS from the driver package, but it just seems the UEFI upgrader/installer is broken for it. And before you ask, yes the laptop is plugged into the power (the UEFI upgrader refuses to continue unless it's plugged in).

Sadly it hasn't been repeated in a while but this was a very interesting one-off comedy-drama, it essentially goes from >!a parody of The Archers into full-on demonic sci-fi horror, with plenty of meta humour!< 🤣 Very well written and an inventive premise.
