Sub mini ? Sub gen 2 ?

Sub mini , sub 3 ?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently hesitating between which subwoofer I should keep with my Sonos Arc: the Sonos Sub (Gen 3) or the Sub Mini.

I’m comparing both setups: the Sub Gen 3 paired with the Sonos Arc, and the Sub Mini paired with a pair of Era 100.

I mainly test them for music listening, and honestly, I’m struggling to decide which one I prefer. For those who have used both, what do you think? What are the main strengths and weaknesses of each in your experience?

My living room is open to the kitchen, for a total area of about 40 m². This setup is mainly used for music. I also watch series and movies from time to time, although for more serious music listening I usually use a pair of speakers from another brand that I find better suited for that purpose.

I currently have both setups running in my living room, which is why I’m comparing them directly.

Small note: in the end, the sub will be used with the Sonos Arc. I’m only using the Era 100 setup for testing so I don’t have to constantly disconnect and reconnect the sub between comparisons, which would take too much time.

I also have a question: do Sonos Subs slightly change their sound signature depending on the device they are paired with? I’m wondering if my comparison might be biased, since the Sub Gen 3 is paired with the Sonos Arc while the Sub Mini is paired with the Era 100 pair. Could this difference in setup affect the perceived bass performance, or am I still comparing them fairly?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Pro ject Carbon esprit vs début III upgrade

Hello everyone,

I’d like to get your opinion: would it be worth buying a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit Walnut just to take the Ortofon 2M Red cartridge and the acrylic platter and install them on my Debut III ?

Right now, my Debut III has an OM5E cartridge and the standard black platter.
I’d like to keep the Debut III mainly because I prefer its matte black design.

I can get the Debut Carbon Esprit Walnut for around budget €180, which seems like a really good deal price-wise.

So, would I be missing out on anything by not using the Debut Carbon Esprit itself?
With a 2M Red and an acrylic platter on my Debut III, would there be a real noticeable improvement in sound quality? Is it actually worth it?

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a quick question about the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module.

I’d like to install one behind a light switch so I can keep controlling my GU10 spots through the Philips Hue app, even when the switch is turned off.

The issue is that I have three switches controlling the same lights. So I’m wondering:

Would a single module be enough in this setup, or do I need to install one behind each switch for it to work properly?

Thanks in advance for your help 👍
